Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
As a 2025 first-round pick out of Penn State, Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren's 76 receptions as a rookie led all first-year players, and he was firmly in the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation until Daniel Jones' Week 14 Achilles tear derailed the Colts' offense. With Jones' recovery going exceptionally well by all accounts, there are expectations that he could be back for the start of the 2026 season, and when he returns, Warren projects to be his primary target earner.
Dating back to the midseason trade that sent Adonai Mitchell to New York as part of a deal to acquire Sauce Gardner, the Colts have been thinning their receiver ranks, continuing this offseason by trading away Michael Pittman Jr., the team's target leader in each of the past five seasons. With Indianapolis spending big to retain 2025 breakout Alec Pierce, the most significant outside acquisitions to the receiver room were seventh-round pick Deion Burks and seven-year veteran Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, who caught only 11 passes last year in Miami.
The Colts 2026 passing offense is shaping up to run through Warren, Pierce, and Josh Downs, and with neither receiver coming within 20 targets of Warren in his rookie campaign, the 24-year-old tight end could see monumental volume in year two even with the recent addition of Keenan Allen. As one of the few tight ends in the league capable of leading his team in targets every week, he offers a rare positional advantage, and at RotoBaller's TE4, Warren is worth spending up on in the early rounds of redraft leagues.
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
It took some time - nine weeks to be exact - for Colston Loveland to make an impact, but his 6-118-2 stat line against the Bengals was only the start of things to come. In a season in which the 2025 10th-overall pick had to overtake incumbent starter Cole Kmet and compete with a trio of talented wide receivers for targets, Loveland still finished his debut campaign with 58-713-6.
It was in the most high-profile games, late in the season and in the postseason, when Loveland emerged as one of the league's best young tight ends. Loveland outtargeted Kmet 48 to 11 in the final four games of Chicago's season and topped 90 yards in three of those. When Loveland, Rome Odunze, and Luther Burden III, the new top weapons in Chicago following DJ Moore's trade to Buffalo, were on the field together, the tight end commanded a 33% target rate. Loveland is now ranked as a top-five tight end, with the fantasy football community wondering how high he can fly.
Isaiah Likely, New York Giants
New York Giants tight end Isaiah Likely steps into a featured role after John Harbaugh saw what he was capable of in Baltimore, but can we get consistent production here? He was limited by injuries in 2025, both to himself and Lamar Jackson, which led to just 27 catches for 307 yards and one touchdown. Likely required surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot, which shelved him through August and forced him to miss the first three games of the season.
But alongside the overall offensive depression, he was far behind Derrick Henry, Mark Andrews, and Zay Flowers. Though the Giants' offense will be different than '25, if Likely goes from last year's 53% route participation rate toward Theo Johnson's 73% mark, we could be very happy. Mix in that Malik Nabers (knee) is no sure bet to recover, and the 6-foot-4 Likely could find himself with a prominent role with lots of red-zone attention.
Though it's been nearly two years since he dominated the Chiefs for 111 yards and a TD (nearly two, those pesky toes) in Week 1 of 2024, the 26-year-old has a ceiling that most TEs don't possess. As a result of the talent, the Harbaugh connection, and the path to more involvement, his RotoBaller rank as the half-PPR TE12 is close to his TE11 ADP (pick 107) in late June.
Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons
Ever since being selected fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Kyle Pitts Sr. has had high expectations. He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie, but has not hit the mark since and has routinely been considered a fantasy bust. However, Pitts exploded over the final six weeks of the 2025 season, averaging 8.5 targets, 6.5 receptions, 78.2 yards, and scoring four touchdowns, finally rewarding fantasy managers en route to finishing as the TE2 on the season.
Pitts should be in line for another heavy dose of targets, as the Falcons did not do much outside of adding rookie Zachariah Branch to the receiving room. Whether Tua Tagovailoa or Michael Penix Jr. wins the quarterback job in Atlanta, fantasy managers should expect a healthy target share for the star tight end.
Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta was the half-PPR TE7 through Week 9, securing 40 catches for 489 yards and three TDs, before ongoing back pains culminated in a fully herniated disc, ending his year in Week 10. He had initially tried to rehab it, but surgery was ultimately necessary after a month off didn't solve things. And Dan Campbell said that LaPorta is "trending the right way" amidst a mid-June minicamp practice.
Given that LaPorta is holding onto a half-PPR ADP around pick 80 in June as the No. 8 TE, it seems the market is echoing Campbell's positive statements.
A healthy Lions team has many mouths to feed, so looking at that electric rookie campaign with 120 targets and 10 TDs sets unrealistic expectations. But his prominent role in a high-scoring offense does afford a lofty ceiling and median outcome that is well worth his current price tag in most draft rooms. However, LaPorta's Week 1 status is now uncertain due to a hip injury suffered on a hit in practice. He still boasts a sizeable ceiling, and his ADP should slip to maintain value. Monitor the situation.
