2 Start Pitchers: Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 14 (2025)

Ryne Nelson - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Pitchers, MLB Injury News

Pranav's 2 start pitchers, fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups, streamers, starts for Week 14 of 2025 (June 30 to July 6). His top SP matchups with two starts.

Hey, RotoBallers! Welcome back to another Two-Start Pitchers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts article for Week 14 of 2025, from June 30 to July 6. Plenty of teams have seven games on the schedule this week, setting us up with a good amount of two-start pitchers.

Each week of the 2025 fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers in line to make two starts in the upcoming week. It will look at fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 33 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will examine the ideal options with roster rates under 50 percent. Pitchers with roster rates over 50 percent will also be listed. The other two-start pitchers are available, but they are not listed as they should be avoided.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Ryne Nelson (26% Rostered), Arizona Diamondbacks

Scheduled Starts: vs. SF, vs. KC

While there have been a few bumps along the way, Ryne Nelson has mostly had a good year for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Through 60 2/3 innings as a reliever and starter, he holds a 3.71 ERA, 3.84 FIP, 1.05 WHIP, 21.1% strikeout rate, and 8.5% walk rate.

Only observing his innings as a starting pitcher, Nelson maintains a 3.12 ERA, 4.61 FIP, 1.07 WHIP, 18.1% strikeout rate, and 10.9% walk rate through 34 2/3 innings. His .226 BABIP is the regression statistic of greatest concern, but a 70% left-on-base rate cuts the edge off.

Nelson's fastball is worth noting, as its 19.3-inch iVB at 95.5 mph has resulted in a run value of 13, placing it among the best fastballs in the league. With a .307 xwOBA on 61% usage, Nelson's fastball makes him a competitive pitcher in any situation.

A Kansas City offense now ranked dead last in scoring this season poses little threat. And while Rafael Devers surely adds an extra jolt to San Francisco's offense, it still ranks only 22nd in scoring since June 15. There are still some landmines present, but Nelson is a better option than most.

Trevor Rogers (4% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: @ TEX, @ ATL

Sidelined by two injuries this season, Trevor Rogers has only touched the mound for Baltimore three times this season. It's difficult to draw any conclusions with so few pitches thrown, but Rogers has certainly made a positive impression, with a 1.62 ERA, 2.24 FIP, 0.78 WHIP, 20.3% strikeout rate, and 4.3% walk rate through three starts.

Rogers is coming off one of the most impressive starts of his career, throwing eight shutout innings with four strikeouts and three hits allowed against the Texas Rangers. While you can't conclude much from a few starts, the 27-year-old has added 2 mph to his sinker and fastball, and 1.5 mph to his changeup.

He'll get an encore in the pitcher-friendly Globe Life Field against a Texas offense ranked 25th in scoring this season. Then, he'll get an Atlanta offense ranked 24th in scoring this season. While his lack of innings this year presents some danger, there are no streaming options with Rogers' ceiling this week.

Riskier Two-Start Pitcher Streamer Picks

Max Scherzer (47% Rostered), Toronto Blue Jays

Scheduled Starts: vs. NYY, vs. LAA

Max Scherzer returned to the mound last week after an extended injury-related absence. Mad Max went five innings deep, allowing three runs, six hits, and three walks, with four strikeouts.

He posted a solid 3.95 ERA, 22.6% strikeout rate, and 5.6% walk rate in an injury-plagued 2024 season. Compared to that year, Scherzer's stuff in his latest start was mostly as good, with a slight uptick in velocity across the board and minor fluctuations in shape.

Father Time hasn't pushed out Scherzer quite yet. But, the 40-year-old cannot be a safe streamer this early into the season, especially with a Yankees offense ranked fourth in scoring this season coming up next.

Gavin Williams (46% Rostered), Cleveland Guardians

Scheduled Starts: @ CHC, vs. DET

After a difficult start to the year, Gavin Williams has settled down. Since May 9, Williams has held a 2.77 ERA, 4.38 FIP, 1.21 WHIP, 21.1% strikeout rate, and 12.7% walk rate through nine starts.

There are certainly red flags, with his 12.7% walk rate and 4.38 FIP making it difficult to feel confident in his performance long-term. Regardless, it's a bad idea to stream any starting pitcher against two top-4 offenses (by runs scored).

Jacob Lopez (24% Rostered), Athletics

Scheduled Starts: @ TB, vs. SF

Despite a string of terrible starts a few weeks ago, Jacob Lopez has dominated batters this season. Through 43 innings, he holds a 3.56 ERA, 4.00 FIP, 1.30 WHIP, 28.9% strikeout rate, and 8.9% walk rate. He's amid a hot stretch, with a 0.39 ERA, 2.00 FIP, 0.91 WHIP, 31.5% strikeout rate, and 7.6% walk rate in his last four starts.

While a 27.3% ground-ball rate and 78.8% left-on-base rate are concerning, his .323 BABIP and high strikeout floor (13.7% SwStr rate, 30.2% CSW rate) are convincing in Lopez's favor.

While it is tempting to ride the hot hand, he'll get a Tampa Bay team pacing the league in scoring since June 1 in his first start this week. Resist the urge to stream Lopez this week.

Hayden Birdsong (24% Rostered), San Francisco Giants

Scheduled Starts: @ ARZ, @ ATH

He's had some good starts this season, but Hayden Birdsong's recent missteps have him at a 4.13 ERA, 4.43 FIP, 1.38 WHIP, 22.3% strikeout rate, and 9.6% walk rate.

With an Arizona offense ranked third in scoring this season on the slate, Birdsong is not someone you should look for this week.

Edward Cabrera (24% Rostered), Miami Marlins

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIN, vs. MIL

Edward Cabrera has had a relatively stable year for the Miami Marlins, with a 3.78 ERA, 4.05 FIP, 1.37 WHIP, 25% strikeout rate, and 10.5% walk rate through 13 starts. Outside of a 4.56 xERA and his high walk rate, Cabrera is of streaming quality.

However, Cabrera's matchups take him out of the streaming conversation this week. Milwaukee and Minnesota both rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in runs scored this month.

Erick Fedde (17% Rostered), St. Louis Cardinals

Scheduled Starts: @ PIT, @ CHC

Erick Fedde has been tripped up a few times this season, giving him a 4.11 ERA, 4.49 FIP, 1.36 WHIP, 15.2% strikeout rate, and 10.2% walk rate.

While a Pittsburgh offense ranked 29th in scoring this season should offer a respite, his next matchup against a Cubs offense ranked second in scoring this season disqualifies him from the streaming conversation.

Andrew Heaney (16% Rostered), Pittsburgh Pirates

Scheduled Starts: vs. STL, @ SEA

Andrew Heaney's magical run from the beginning of the season has mostly been wiped out. Through 16 starts, Heaney now holds a 4.48 ERA, 4.86 FIP, 1.25 WHIP, 17.6% strikeout rate, and 8.3% walk rate.

You should not stream him this week with a top-10 scoring St. Louis offense on the slate.

Patrick Corbin (10% Rostered), Texas Rangers

Scheduled Starts: vs. BAL, @ SD

Patrick Corbin's regression is near completion, as he now holds a 4.24 ERA, 4.52 FIP, 1.28 WHIP, 18.5% strikeout rate, and 7.2% walk rate through 14 starts.

Baltimore's offense has regained life this month, ranking seventh in scoring this season. Avoid streaming Corbin this week.
