When Is Roman Anthony Getting Called Up? Fantasy Baseball Prospect Outlook (Week 11 Update)

Roman Anthony - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

When is Roman Anthony getting called up? Will Anthony get promoted in June 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 11.

Fantasy managers have been waiting weeks for the Boston Red Sox's top prospect, Roman Anthony, to be called up. He has shown his potential down in Triple-A all season, and there isn't anything left for him to prove in the minors.

Anthony is slashing .288/.423/.491 with 10 home runs, 29 RBI, and three stolen bases across 58 games for Triple-A Worcester this year. This solid campaign comes after the top prospect tore it up at Double-A and Triple-A during the 2024 season.

So, when are the Red Sox going to call up Anthony? Can we expect him to make his debut in June? Let's dive in and find out.

Roman Anthony Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball

It's finally happening, folks! The Red Sox have finally decided to call up the best prospect in baseball ahead of their series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, a source told Mass Live's Christopher Smith. Anthony will join the team in Boston and figures to see plenty of playing time in the outfield moving forward.

Although Anthony was not in the original Red Sox lineup on Monday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the team will release a new lineup with the outfielder hitting fifth. It was only a matter of time until Anthony was promoted. He was posting solid all-around numbers at Triple-A and caught headlines over the weekend when he hit a 497-foot grand slam on Saturday against Triple-A Rochester.

That swing should tell you all you need to know about the talented outfielder. He has solid hitting tools and can also steal double-digit bases. In his last full minor league season in 2024, Anthony hit .291 with 18 home runs, 65 RBI, and 21 stolen bases in 119 games between Double-A and Triple-A.

Roman Anthony Outlook for Fantasy Baseball

With Anthony finally being promoted, he should be added in every fantasy league right now. There's a reason why he is the best prospect in all of baseball, and he has the potential to be a solid fantasy option in Year 1. He can hit for a solid average while possibly hitting upward of 15 home runs and stealing over 15 bases in his rookie campaign.

As a result, fantasy managers should grab him off waivers if he is still available. Given that outfielder Wilyer Abreu is set to go on the injured list with an oblique injury to make way for Anthony, that should help the prospect get on the field right away

It's exciting to see Anthony finally be called up, and it's hard not to love his fantasy outlook for the rest of the year. He had a career .285 batting average with 42 home runs, 170 RBI, 225 walks, and 41 stolen bases across 303 games at all five minor league levels (rookie ball, Low-A, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A) since 2022.
