Terry McLaurin Misses Another Practice, Unlikely to Play on Sunday
Terry McLaurin (quad) was not spotted at Friday's practice, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Three straight DNPs spell trouble for the veteran, as it seems highly unlikely that he'll be available for Sunday's outing with the hosting Atlanta Falcons. It's unfortunate news for McLaurin, who has started the season off slowly following his offseason hold-in. With teammate Noah Brown (groin, knee) also in danger of missing Week 4's contest, Deebo Samuel Sr., Jaylin Lane, Chris Moore, and Luke McCaffrey are set to man Washington's wide receiver corps on the road against Atlanta. Moore placed first last weekend regarding snaps amongst that grouping.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. in Line For Lead-Back Duties on Sunday?
Chris Rodriguez Jr. led the backfield with 11 carries in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, and reports have surfaced on Thursday that Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) was officially a non-participant at practice due to an injury. With that in mind, Rodriguez is someone who, should JCM miss time, could handle lead-back duties and be a sneaky play in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. It's important to note that JCM still has the opportunity to practice on Friday. Regardless, Rodriguez is someone who can be stashed on your bench for now and inserted into your lineups should JCM not play or we get a more consistent approach to how the Commanders will treat this backfield now that Austin Ekeler (Achilles) is out for the season.

Noah Brown Still Not Practicing
Noah Brown (groin, knee) was tagged with a DNP for Thursday's practice, per the team. Not only has the veteran wideout dealt with a nagging knee injury he picked up during training camp, but a groin issue suffered during Week 2's loss to the Packers has kept him from practice over the past two weeks. With teammate Terry McLaurin (quad) also not practicing due to a quad ailment, it's possible that Deebo Samuel Sr., Jaylin Lane, Chris Moore, and Luke McCaffrey handle wide receiver duties in Sunday's road outing with the Atlanta Falcons. Expect an update on Brown and McLaurin following Friday's session, but they're currently trending downward.

Terry McLaurin Won't Need Surgery, but Not Looking Good for Week 4
Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) will not require surgery after seeking multiple medical opinions this week, but his status for Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday is not looking good. Garafolo added it's uncertain exactly what McLaurin's injury is, as it's been described as a quad/groin/hip ailment. It was ominous news that McLaurin met with a core-muscle specialist this week, but at least for now, he will avoid going under the knife. Still, the 30-year-old wideout has not practiced yet this week and is looking unlikely to play this Sunday in Atlanta. Fantasy managers would be wise to replace him in their starting lineups for now. Even if he's able to practice on Friday, which seems unlikely, he wouldn't be a lock to play in Week 4. With Noah Brown trending toward a second straight missed game, Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane appear to be in line for increased playing time for the Commanders.

Terry McLaurin Officially a DNP on Thursday
Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) was officially a non-participant in Thursday's practice, the second straight day this week that he failed to practice. McLaurin injured his quad in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and has received multiple medical opinions from specialists this week, a sign that he won't be available to play this Sunday against the hosting Atlanta Falcons. The 30-year-old will most certainly need to practice in some fashion on Friday to have a shot at suiting up in Week 4, but as of now, fantasy managers should consider McLaurin more doubtful than likely to play. Noah Brown (groin, knee) has yet to practice, too, after missing Week 3, so Washington could be down to Deebo Samuel Sr., Luke McCaffrey, and rookie Jaylin Lane this weekend. It's also unclear if quarterback Jayden Daniels will be able to return from a knee sprain he suffered in Week 2.

Jayden Daniels Limited Again on Thursday
Jayden Daniels (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Daniels is making progress from a knee sprain that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but he's up in the air to return this weekend for a road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The 24-year-old was held out of the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. If he is unable to upgrade to a full practice on Friday, Daniels will likely go into Sunday's contest with a questionable designation. The Commanders aren't going to rush the second-year signal-caller back onto the field, especially if his lateral movement is still compromised. If Daniels can return against Atlanta, fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups, even if he's without top wideout Terry McLaurin (quadriceps).

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Misses Practice on Thursday
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) was held out of practice with a knee injury for the second straight day on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Croskey-Merritt has logged 22 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns through his first three games of 2025. The 24-year-old's status for the team's Week 4 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons appears to be in doubt. Croskey-Merritt was part of a backfield committee for Washington in Week 3, splitting touches with running backs Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols. If Croskey-Merritt is sidelined against the Falcons, Rodriguez Jr. could be the primary early-down back with McNichols handling the majority of the passing-down work. Should Croskey-Merritt be active, he would profile as a low-end fantasy RB3/flex option.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Returns to Practice, Faces Tough Matchup in Week 4
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday, putting him on track to play in Sunday's road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie has been an early bright spot, leading the Commanders in rushing attempts (22), yards (125), and touchdowns (two) despite not yet starting a game. Washington has employed a committee approach, but Croskey-Merritt has held a slight edge in carries as the team eases him into NFL action. While his efficiency and red-zone usage are encouraging, the Falcons rank 10th in the league against the run, and Croskey-Merritt has not been heavily involved as a receiver, which limits his upside. For fantasy purposes, he's best left on benches in standard formats but can be considered a deeper-league flex given his growing role in Washington's backfield.

Terry McLaurin Not Seen at Thursday's Practice
Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) was not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Noah Brown (groin, knee), who did not play in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, was also not present. McLaurin has been getting multiple medical opinions on a quad injury he suffered in Week 3, and even spent time with a core-muscle specialist. If the 30-year-old misses a second straight practice, he'll be on the wrong side of questionable for this weekend's contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Washington could be without both McLaurin and Brown, which means that Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane would start in three-wide sets next to Deebo Samuel Sr. Tight end Zach Ertz will be a must-start if McLaurin sits.

Noah Brown Misses Practice on Wednesday
Noah Brown (groin, knee) was listed as a DNP in Wednesday's practice, according to Ben Standig. Brown missed Week 3's game against the Raiders after injuring his groin in Week 2 against the Packers. It was expected early last week that Brown wasn't going to be able to go, and his status for this week is very much in the air. Head coach Dan Quinn has often used Wednesday as a rest day for veterans, which he did here for a number of guys, but it's more likely that Brown missed due to injury than it was for a veteran rest day. Brown has had plenty of injuries throughout his career, including an injury to his kidney that ended his season last year. Brown shouldn't be on fantasy radars even if he were to suit up in Week 4 against Atlanta.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt's Knee Injury Not Considered Serious
Jacory Croskey-Merritt's knee injury is not considered serious, a source told Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Jhabvala added that she shouldn't be surprised if Croskey-Merritt practices on Thursday after he did not take the field on Wednesday. The 24-year-old had 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut in Week 1, but he's combined for only 12 carries for 33 yards and a score over the last two games, including only eight carries for 26 yards in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in the first game without Austin Ekeler (Achilles). JCM should lead Washington's backfield when all is said and done in 2025 with Ekeler done for the season, but he's going to share the load with Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols. Line Croskey-Merritt up as an RB3/flex in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Jayden Daniels Waiting for Clearance from Doctors
Jayden Daniels (knee) appears to be feeling better after sitting out Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Daniels suffered a knee injury in Week 2 that forced him to the sideline last Sunday. He was able to get through a limited practice on Wednesday without any discomfort. Despite the progress, Daniels is leaving his game status for Week 4 up to the doctors. The Commanders are likely going to wait it out a few more days before making a final decision. There's a chance that Daniels does suit up this weekend, but wears a brace on his knee. However, no one should blame the Commanders for taking the cautious approach and sitting their young franchise quarterback for one more game. Marcus Mariota completed 15-of-21 passing attempts for 207 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. The 31-year-old seems capable of leading this offense to victory against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on Daniels.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt on Week 4 Injury Report With Knee Injury
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) was unable to practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury that he apparently picked up in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Croskey-Merritt played 23 of a possible 58 offensive snaps last weekend -- just one more than Chris Rodriguez Jr. -- and had just 31 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on nine touches. Outside of the touchdown, it was a disappointing first showing for the rookie in the first game without Austin Ekeler, who is out for the season after tearing his Achilles in Week 2. It's unclear if JCM is in danger of sitting out of the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but it's certainly worth watching as the week unfolds. If Croskey-Merritt cannot play, both Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols could be justifiable flex plays against a Falcons defense that just gave up 30 points to the Carolina Panthers.

Terry McLaurin Visits With Core-Muscle Specialist
Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) has already received several opinions, including from Dr. Williams Meyers, the nation's leading expert in core-muscle injuries, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. McLaurin, who missed practice on Wednesday, will receive another opinion on his injured quad muscle on Wednesday. As of now, the Commanders think he's dealing with a quad injury, but more tests are coming, and McLaurin's status is in doubt for Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. McLaurin still has two more days to practice, but as things currently stand, it sounds as though he's on the wrong side of questionable to play this weekend. We'll continue to monitor his status closely as we get closer to the weekend. If McLaurin cannot suit up against Atlanta, Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane should see their roles expand behind Deebo Samuel Sr. and tight end Zach Ertz.

Jayden Daniels Will be Limited on Wednesday
Jayden Daniels (knee) will practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. "He is doing everything you possibly can to get there," Quinn said. Daniels is making progress after spraining his knee in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but he's not a lock to return in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons after sitting out last week's win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Commanders aren't going to rush the 24-year-old signal-caller back this weekend if he's up in the air, especially after backup Marcus Mariota looked good in his first start of the year against the Raiders. Daniels could need a full practice on either Thursday or Friday to have a shot at playing in Week 4. If he does play, fantasy managers will want to get him back in their lineups against a Falcons defense that just gave up 30 points to the Carolina Panthers.
