Starting Pitcher Rankings Analysis for Week 11
-Tarik Skubal was spectacular in his first rehab start with High-A Michigan over the weekend, throwing five shutout innings with six strikeouts on 54 pitches. Skubal underwent elbow surgery back on May 6 and could return to the big league club just 4 1/2 weeks later. The Tigers could activate Skubal from the injured list in the next few days, assuming his bullpen session on Wednesday goes according to plan.
Skubal is so back.

-Dylan Cease returned from the injured list on Tuesday and also returned to Nick's rankings for Week 11. Cease threw six innings of one-run ball with 11 strikeouts against the Phillies in his first start back. The Blue Jays right-hander now owns a 2.91 ERA and an American League-leading 103 strikeouts. He's a top-25 pitcher for the rest of the reason.
-Roki Sasaki is a big riser again in Nick's rankings for the second week in a row. He has a 2.55 ERA, 2.91 FIP, and a 27.3% strikeout rate over his last six starts dating back to the beginning of May. In his most recent outing, he threw seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts against the Angels. Sasaki is finally reaching his full potential and finds himself inside the top-45 on this list for the first time this season.
-Nolan McLean had a lot of hype surrounding him coming into the season. But McLean hasn't really reached that potential through the first 10 weeks of the fantasy season. The walks are becoming a problem (9% walk rate), and his strikeout numbers have been really down over his last few starts. With a below-average 24.4% whiff rate this season, the Mets pitcher continues to trend down Nick's rankings.
-Bryce Miller has been lights out on the mound since being activated off the IL. He has allowed only four runs across 27 innings pitched (1.33 ERA) this season and just threw six shutout innings with one hit, two walks, and nine strikeouts against the Tigers on Saturday. Considering he ranks in the top 10% of the league in expected batting average (.178), chase rate (35.8%), and strikeout rate (29.3%), his 11-spot rise is justified.

-Jared Jones has slowly but surely started to look like his rookie year self. After allowing five runs across 4 1/3 innings in his season debut, Jones then threw five shutout innings with four strikeouts against the Astros in just his second start back from elbow surgery. As he becomes more comfortable, the results will follow. He rises up five spots this week.
-Gage Jump is the biggest riser on Nick's rankings for this week. He rises up 32 spots from No. 82 to No. 50 following back-to-back great starts. Jump threw seven innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts against the Cubs on June 2 and 6 1/3 shutout innings with three strikeouts against the Astros over the weekend. The strikeout numbers should also tick up moving forward, as he had a 33.3% strikeout rate at Triple-A to start this season.
-MacKenzie Gore hasn't really been a consistent fantasy option in his first season with the Rangers. He has a 4.23 ERA in his first 13 starts, and allowed four runs on nine hits with three walks across 4 2/3 innings in his most recent start against the Cardinals. Given that his strikeout rate (24.8%), whiff rate (24.8%), and chase rate (30.6%) are all down this season, he's a massive faller in this set of rankings.
-Kyle Bradish pitched well for most of May with a 2.80 ERA across six starts. However, there are some concerns about Bradish that surfaced during his recent start against the Blue Jays. He walked at least three batters for the 10th time in 13 starts and struck out fewer than five batters for the third straight time. His high walk rate (11.9%) and low strikeout rate (22.5%) have him trending down.

-Davis Martin was always due for some negative regression. That has shown up recently, as the White Sox right-hander has allowed at least four runs in two of his last three starts. In his most recent outing against the Twins, he gave up a season-high six runs on 10 hits across 4 2/3 innings pitched. He's still a top-60 pitcher for the rest of the season, but he might not be as consistent moving forward with a 45.1% hard-hit rate.
-Trey Yesavage has had a few weird starts in a row. He allowed five runs against the Marlins on May 25, walked a career-high seven batters against the Orioles on May 30, and gave up six runs against the Orioles again on June 5. So, it's not surprising to see him drop outside the top-50 in Nick's rankings. Yesavage, though, projects well for the rest of the season with a 2.78 expected ERA and a .188 expected batting average against.
-Connor Prielipp has been so hit or miss on the mound this year. He looked strong earlier in the year with a 2.88 ERA and 29 strikeouts in his first five career starts. But in his last four starts, Prielipp has an 8.20 ERA and 20 strikeouts. The southpaw has completed five innings just once during this four-start stretch and has allowed at least four runs in three of these four outings. He drops to No. 77 overall.
