Recent Update

7/22:Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale recorded his 12th win of the season when the Red Sox beat the Angels 6-2. Sale pitched six scoreless innings allowing four hits and two walks while striking out nine. He continues to strike batters out at an exceptional pace, recording his 200th strikeout. It took Sale just 141 1/3 innings making him the fastest AL pitcher to achieve the feat. Sale’s next start comes Wednesday when the Red Sox travel to Seattle to take on the Mariners.--Jared T - RotoBaller

  • @PeteAbe: Sale on the trip: 13 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 20 K.
  • @PeteAbe: Sale is ruthless. Working on a 3-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts. But that’s his day after 7 IP and 115 pitches.
  • @IanMBrowne: Knowledgeable traveling Red Sox fans know that's all for Sale, and give him big ovation as he walks back to dugout.
  • @PeteAbe: Chris Sale: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K. 4-0 #RedSox.
  • @PeteAbe: When Sale gives up a hit then strikes the next two guys out because he’s pissed is always quite a show.
  • @PeteAbe: The morning after: Holt RF, Benintendi LF, Pedroia 2B, Ramirez DH, Bradley Jr. CF, Moreland 1B, Bogaerts SS, León C, Devers 3B, Sale LHP.

  • @PeteAbe: From @GlobeChadFinn: Chris Sale brings to mind a peak Roger Clemens than Pedro Martinez:

    https://t.co/tfOLSmpLcf
  • @PeteAbe: @JohnLGoodman Rather have Sale for 3 years than a bat for 2 months.
  • @PeteAbe: #RedSox Notes from Anaheim: Record-setting Chris Sale has long-term goals in mind: https://t.co/Gi9bxmufbv
  • @PeteAbe: @gooo617 It’s less deep. How are Sale, Kimbrel and Pomeranz? They OK?
  • @PeteAbe: The tall guy running laps is Chris Sale. Been at it for a while. https://t.co/QREFxJAkno

  • @PeteAbe: The #RedSox scored five runs before Chris Sale took the mound. Then came more strikeouts:

    https://t.co/w6qqPm5PXM
  • @PeteAbe: Chris Sale is a savage.

Q: Does this feel like the best season you’ve ever had?
Sale: “I’m not here to talk about that kind of crap, man."
  • @PeteAbe: Only real issue with Sale is efficiency. 112 pitches through 6 innings after being staked to a 5-0 lead.
  • @PeteAbe: There you go, 200 strikeouts for Sale. He is the 12th Red Sox pitcher to do that in a single season.
  • @PeteAbe: Sale has 196 strikeouts and is in the middle of his 20th start. Pedro had 194 through 20 starts in ’99 when he set the team record of 313.
