NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 5/28/24

The National Hockey League playoffs are nearing the end. Will Edmonton finally break their curse? During the playoffs, it is much more common to find low-scoring and heavy-hitting games. SCRATCH THAT! This year we have seen plenty of back-and-forth blowouts and teams getting swept! The fireworks have continued so far into the Conference Finals too! Tonight is a pivotal night in the Eastern Conference Finals. If the Rangers can sweep Florida at home, it will be a big hill to climb for the Panthers when the series heads back to New York for Game 5. I will do my best to guide you through this showdown slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

Playoff Series To-Date

New York Rangers at Florida Panthers: New York is leading 2-1

DraftKings and FanDuel Captain - NHL DFS Picks

Matthew Tkachuk - DK $14.7K || FD $13.5K

Opponent - New York Rangers

When it comes to playoffs, it is imperative that a team’s top physical players showcase their skills. That is exactly what Matthew Tkachuk has been doing. Throughout his most recent five playoff appearances, he has one goal, four assists, 15 shots, and three blocked shots. As a driving force for the Florida Panthers, Tkachuk is going uncontested for the majority of games, due to the Rangers’ lack of a physical presence in the lineup. He is also playing against New York’s defensively woeful second line. In what is a dire situation now for the Panthers, look for Tkachuk to elevate his game even further with two points and five shots tonight.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Shesterkin (DK $16.2K || FD $K)
  • Panarin (DK $14.4K || FD $14.5K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Flex Players - NHL DFS Picks

Sam Reinhart - DK $9.2K || FD $15K

Opponent - New York Rangers

Reinhart has finally broken his rut of form, scoring two goals and taking three shots in the 5-4 loss at home in Game 3. As one of the most reliable players on the Panthers team, Reinhart needs to step his game up and do it quickly, with a drop in shot volume over his last five games. In that timeframe, he has three goals, 20 shots and seven blocked shots. Reinhart continues to be dominant on the power play, however, his even-strength numbers are less than desirable. If the Panthers are to win, they need their top-scoring winger to return to form. Expect Reinhart to deliver one point and four shots tonight.

Vincent Trocheck - DK $8.8K || FD $14K

Opponent - Florida Panthers

Vincent Trocheck and the Rangers’ second line continue to dominate the playoffs. The center now has two goals, four assists, 13 shots, and six blocked shots over his last five playoff appearances. His matchup in this series has also helped, playing the majority of his time against Florida’s third line. With the top line for New York non-existent in this series, it is Trocheck and company or nothing. The center is expected to produce one point and three shots in a big Game 4.

Carter Verhaeghe - DK $8.6K || FD $13K

Opponent - New York Rangers

Verhaeghe is once again thriving in the playoffs with two goals, four assists, 20 shots, and three blocked shots. Unlike his teammate Sam Reinhart mentioned above, Verhaeghe is actually producing on all fronts. After a spotty series against the Bruins, the winger has dominated the series against New York in three games thus far. As one of the main producers of the Florida Panthers, Verhaghe will need to continue this form as well. He is expected to generate two points and four shots in a crucial Game 4.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Trouba (DK $7K || FD $9.5K)
  • Chytil (DK $4.4K || FD $7K)
