Undervalued Fantasy Baseball Players to Trade For
Ketel Marte, 2B, Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte hasn't done much offensively in the early going. He is batting just .184 with one home run, two doubles, and three RBI across 10 games. For a player who was selected in the first three rounds of fantasy drafts this spring, those numbers are a bit worrisome. This slow start resulted in Marte being the third-most traded player in Yahoo! leagues on Monday.
However, Marte is one of the better buy-lows in fantasy baseball right now. Despite the poor offensive numbers in the early going, there are reasons to believe that he will eventually pick things up. His expected batting average (.285) is 101 points higher than his actual batting average (.184), and he ranks toward the top of the league in average exit velocity (94.6 mph), hard-hit rate (56.3%), and bat speed (74.3 mph).

So, buy Marte while his fantasy value is so low. He has batted over .280 with at least 28 home runs, 70 RBI, and 85 runs scored in back-to-back seasons and has definitely gotten a bit unlucky at the plate this season. His numbers will eventually even out as the season goes on. Make sure to trade for him now amid a slow start to the year.
Wyatt Langford, OF, Texas Rangers
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford entered the 2026 season fresh off a dominant spring showing. Langford slashed .415/.500/.854 with five home runs, three doubles, and 15 RBI across 16 Spring Training games. However, Langford has not carried those strong spring numbers into the regular season. He is batting only .163 with two RBI, one stolen base, and 12 strikeouts across his first 10 games.
It has not been a great start to the season for the Rangers' outfielder. He has yet to draw a walk in his 43 plate appearances, and there are some plate discipline issues in the early going. The 24-year-old has a 30.5% chase rate, a 27.9% strikeout rate, and a .225 xwOBA so far. His poor numbers are why his fantasy value is so down right now.
If someone in your league is willing to sell him, though, look to acquire him immediately. Langford will eventually break out of this small slump, and when he does, he will return to being a solid fantasy contributor. The three biggest metrics that support that are his current barrel rate (10.3%), squared-up rate (30%), and sprint speed (27.9 ft/sec). Add in his 73.2 mph bat speed, and the tools are there for a big-time season.

That makes now the best time to trade for Langford in all fantasy leagues. He is coming off his best all-around season in the Majors and has the potential to have another 20-home run, 20-stolen base campaign. Don't overlook him in fantasy because of his slow start.
Nick Kurtz, 1B, Athletics
Those who own Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz are definitely frustrated with his early-season production. After hitting .290 with 36 home runs and 86 RBI across 117 games in his rookie season, there are some fantasy managers who are afraid that a sophomore slump could be in store for 2026. Kurtz is batting only .148 with one extra-base hit, two stolen bases, and 14 strikeouts across 36 plate appearances.
The strikeouts have always been a problem for Kurtz, dating back to last year. The lefty slugger had a 35.5% whiff rate and a 30.9% strikeout rate in 2025. Those two poor metrics have continued into the early portion of this season, as the Athletics first baseman has a 41.4% whiff rate and a 38.9% strikeout rate so far in 2026.
While those numbers are a bit concerning, Kurtz will turn things around. The high strikeout and whiff rates didn't stop him from being a fantasy superstar in his rookie campaign. He's one of the most talented up-and-coming hitters in the league, and some of his metrics through the first two weeks suggest better days are ahead for him.
Kurtz ranks in the 93rd percentile in average exit velocity (94.3 mph), in the 83rd percentile in barrel rate (15.4%), and in the 97th percentile in bat speed (76.6 mph). Considering he plays half of his games in a Minor League ballpark in Sacramento, the 23-year-old is a massive buy-low right now.
Overvalued Fantasy Baseball Players to Trade Away
Randy Arozarena, OF, Seattle Mariners
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena has been a solid all-around fantasy contributor to start the season. He is currently batting .286 with three doubles, three RBI, two stolen bases, and nine runs scored in 11 games. Arozarena has actually been a consistent fantasy option over the past few years, hitting 20+ home runs and stealing 20+ bases in five straight seasons.
However, it might be time to test the waters to see what you can get for him. While you shouldn't just trade him away to trade him away, there is one telling sign that suggests a down power season could be in store for the 31-year-old veteran. Arozarena's bat speed is noticeably down to start the 2026 season.
Last year, Arozarena's bat speed sat around 72.3 mph. This year, that bat speed has dropped all the way down to 68.1 mph. That 4.2 mph bat speed difference is one of the biggest among all hitters in 2026. His 68.1 mph bat speed currently ranks in the ninth percentile, which could be why his barrel rate sits at just 6.7% in the early going.
That's enough reason to put Arozarena on the trade block. His bat speed and barrel rate both rank in the bottom half of the league, and his sprint speed is also down a tick from last year.
Ranger Suarez, SP, Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox signed Ranger Suarez in free agency to operate as a top-of-the-line starting pitcher. Unfortunately, that has not been the case to begin the 2026 season. Suarez allowed four runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings against the Astros on March 30 and then gave up four runs on six hits with two walks across four innings against the Padres on Sunday.
There's simply no way around it: Suarez has struggled in his first two starts. He has an 8.64 ERA and only five strikeouts, and his metrics don't bode well for his fantasy value the rest of the season. The left-hander ranks in the bottom 10% of the league in expected ERA (8.55), expected batting average against (.355), average fastball velocity (90.8%), and whiff rate (16.7%).

It hasn't been a strong start to Suarez's 2026 season, which also included some struggles in the World Baseball Classic. The 30-year-old allowed six runs with five walks and five strikeouts across 4 2/3 innings with Venezuela in the WBC in March. That makes it hard to trust the Red Sox pitcher moving forward, especially since he has been hit hard across his first two outings.
As a result, trade Suarez now for whatever you can get. Opposing hitters are all over his cutter, and the southpaw has never been known as a strikeout pitcher in his career. Although he doesn't have much fantasy value right now, there is potentially someone in your league who might believe in him bouncing back. Trade him to them in Week 2.
