Mike Evans, Christian Watson, Jayden Higgins: Must-Add Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 14 Fantasy?

Mike Evans, Baker Mayfield - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Mike Evans, Christian Watson, Jayden Higgins must-add waiver wire pickups for Week 14 fantasy football? Are they breaking out for fantasy football in 2025?

The wide receiver position is just a little bit more forgiving than the running back position in terms of finding talent on the waiver wire. It's hard to find players that will be consistently good moving forward, though.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (collarbone), Green Bay Packers wideout Christian Watson, and Houston Texans WR Jayden Higgins are three candidates you could consider using your FAAB or waiver claims on, though.

All three are big wideouts that have significant roles in their offenses when healthy, and each have had nice moments this season. But should you add them with your waiver wire pickups ahead of Week 14?

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. Mike Evans Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 59% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

Evans is still recovering from a broken clavicle he suffered in Week 7. It was a tough break for him (literally) as he had just missed the three previous games with a hamstring issue after missing games the previous season with a hamstring issue after missing games in 2022 with hamstring injuries... and so on.

Evans has missed games in nearly every season in his career. At the end of this year, he'll have only had four total seasons in which he played all his team's contests. So he's no stranger to injury. But he's been working his way back from this latest aliment more quickly than expected, apparently.

Evans probably will have his first season in the NFL without reaching 1,000 receiving yards. But that doesn't mean he'll be useless in fantasy football moving forward. That said, if he returns in Week 15, it will be hard to trust him in anything more than a flex spot.

But a solid flex player on a team that has struggling receivers might be exactly what many fantasy teams need. Rookie WR Emeka Egbuka has cooled off massively after his hot start. Evans could give this team's offense an adrenaline shot. He needs to be added in all leagues.

Christian Watson Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 55% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12-team leagues

Watson scored 18.3 PPR fantasy points in Week 13, in part by catching four of his 10 targets for 80 yards and a touchdown. The low catch rate is a bit concerning, but more worrying is the imminent return of wide receivers Jayden Reed (clavicle) and rookie Matthew Golden (shoulder).

Green Bay's offense involves spreading the ball around as much as possible. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur does a great job of helping his receivers get open with his scheme, which is why we see them absolutely detonate in certain weeks throughout the season only to sink back into fantasy irrelevance for a stretch.

Whoever the WR1 is for this team (and appears to be Watson) will inevitably lose work to the other guys on the roster when they come back. Watson is still worth hanging on to in 12-team leagues for his upside. He's a fine flex player when you get desperate, and this week, quite a few teams are on bye.

It's just hard to expect him to maintain the target share he's had in recent weeks.

Jayden Higgins Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 40% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12-Team Leagues

Higgins caught five of his six targets for 65 yards in Week 13, scoring 11.5 PPR fantasy points. He's been a mostly nice and consistent high-floor player over the last six contests, save for a one-catch, four-yard dud game in Week 9.

Higgins hasn't had good quarterback play all season, and he's the WR2 on his team behind elite wideout Nico Collins, but that hasn't stopped him from being a decent flex play. Collins has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but he is the WR1. Higgins, however, has had a pretty nice target share recently.

Higgins needs to get the ball more. But rookies in offenses with poor offensive coordinators, like Texans OC Nick Caley, tend to take time to get worked into the passing game, and have lower upside because of how poorly their offenses are run.

The first-year pro should have a few more solid games, but it's hard seeing him have monster upside. He's a serviceable flex player most weeks, though, in leagues with 12 or more teams. So he should be rostered in those leagues. In 10-team or smaller leagues, it's probably not worth it.

Houston's passing offense, whether led by QB C.J. Stroud or Davis Mills, can't support two great fantasy wide receivers. Most of the time, they can't even support one.
