Fantasy Football Drop Candidates

Read the recent news and fantasy outlooks of some of the top cut candidates:

Kendre Miller, RB - New Orleans Saints (Cut List Ranking No. 19)

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore acknowledged that "there's concern" surrounding running back Kendre Miller (knee), who left during the first quarter of Sunday's Week 7 loss. Moore did not elaborate on the injury, but it sounds like the backup running back could be at risk of missing extended time.

Miller had previously carved out a decent workload in his backup role behind Alvin Kamara, so his absence will presumably clear the way for Kamara to reclaim the workhorse role in New Orleans. Devin Neal, who had one carry for one yard on Sunday, could also see a slight uptick in snaps if Miller misses any games. Fantasy managers invested in his status should monitor the Saints' injury reports ahead of Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Darren Waller, TE - Miami Dolphins (Cut List Ranking No. 20)

Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller (pectoral) was diagnosed with a pectoral strain following Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Cleveland Browns, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus. Waller will undergo an MRI on Monday morning. Both the team and player are hoping to avoid the worst-case scenario, which is a torn pectoral that would sideline him for the rest of the season.

If the injury is less severe, Waller could miss a shorter period of time and would perhaps be able to avoid an injured reserve stint. Regardless, it does appear as though Waller is at risk of missing at least some time. Julian Hill and Tanner Conner are the next tight ends on the depth chart, but neither player possesses significant fantasy relevance.

Justin Fields, QB - New York Jets (Cut List Ranking No. 7)

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was benched at halftime during Sunday's Week 7 contest against the Carolina Panthers. At the time of his benching, he had completed just six of 12 pass attempts for 46 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero turnovers. He also rushed for 22 yards and took three sacks. He was replaced by Tyrod Taylor, who led the Jets' offense on the opening drive of the second half. Fields' benching runs counter to comments made by head coach Aaron Glenn last week, when he criticized a reporter for asking about a potential quarterback change.

Just seven days later, Glenn appears to have a new perspective on the situation. Taylor will be tasked with leading the 0-6 Jets back from a 10-3 deficit coming out of the locker room.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB - New England Patriots (Cut List Ranking No. 21)

New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson was one of the buzziest names in fantasy football after his strong preseason showing. However, the 22-year-old has failed to carve out a consistent role in his team's offense through the first seven games of his career. For the season so far, Henderson has recorded 252 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 59 total touches.

He logged just two carries in Week 7 and has failed to reach double-digit touches in four out of seven games in 2025. Henderson appears to be firmly behind veteran Rhamondre Stevenson on the running back depth chart in New England. Henderson maintains significant dynasty appeal, and deep-league redraft fantasy managers should continue to be patient as well.

However, in shallow redraft leagues, Henderson might be difficult to roster given his current playing time situation.

Hassan Haskins, RB - Los Angeles Chargers (Cut List Ranking No. 2)

Despite being named the team's starter leading up to their win against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6, Los Angeles Chargers running back Hassan Haskins took a backseat to teammate Kimani Vidal. It was never assumed that the 25-year-old would absorb all of LA's backfield work in Omarion Hampton's (ankle) absence, but Vidal took the opportunity and ran with it. Haskins was out-touched 21-7, out-gained 139-23, and out-snapped 43-20.

In their Week 7 loss to the Colts on Sunday, Haskins remained the clear RB2 taking only one carry for a mere three yards. Vidal once again dominated the backfield, logging nine attempts and seeing five targets.

Haskins can't be trusted for fantasy, but he's on the radar as the handcuff in the deepest of leagues, to own in Los Angeles for the time being.
