Kyle Karros Promoted and Starting on Friday
Kyle Karros is being promoted to the major league roster prior to their contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday evening. In addition, Karros is slated to cover the hot corner and bat in the eight-hole. The 23-year-old is currently considered the No. 8-ranked prospect in the Colorado system on MLB.com. The former fifth-round pick out of UCLA opened the campaign with Double-A but needed only 55 games to prove he was ready to join the top ranks of the Colorado system. Through a short 16-game stint with Albuquerque, Karros posted a stellar .306/.368/.500 slash line with four doubles, one triple, two home runs, and a 12:5 K:BB. He is a name to monitor for now, as he could carve out an everyday role on a Colorado team that recently traded third baseman Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees.
