Xander Bogaerts Suffers Foot Fracture, Set to Hit Injured List
Xander Bogaerts (foot) has suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left foot and is expected to go on the injured list, according to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune. A foul ball struck the 32-year-old in his left foot during Wednesday's contest. However, Bogaerts has suffered a serious injury and is in danger of missing an extended period. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the final month of the regular season. Bogaerts has had an everyday role in the San Diego starting nine this season, posting a .262/.330/.387 with 10 home runs and 20 stolen bases. While Bogaerts is held out of action, fantasy managers should expect veteran Jose Iglesias to see most of the opportunities at shortstop.
