Jovantae Barnes Expected to Play in Week 2
Kentucky running back Jovantae Barnes (undisclosed) is expected to play in Week 2 against Alabama, which will be a tough matchup. He missed the Wildcats' Week 1 win over Youngstown State. Kentucky was led on the ground in that one by Jason Patterson, who carried 11 times for 78 yards. CJ Baxter had 48 yards and two scores across seven attempts, while Martels Carter Jr. carried five times for 37 yards. Barnes transferred to Kentucky after playing four seasons with Oklahoma. He accumulated 1,281 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns over 294 rushing attempts with the Sooners, while also catching 28 passes for 188 yards and a score. Bama rolled to a win over East Carolina in Week 1, allowing 10 points and just 162 yards of offense, so Barnes and the rest of the Kentucky backs have a tough matchup this week.
