Welcome, RotoBallers, to our H2H points fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for hitters for Week 15 of the 2025 season. These fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups are for the week of July 7 - July 13, looking at players below ~50 percent rostered on ESPN or Yahoo points leagues.

We'll be doing this points league roundup every week here at RotoBaller because we know points players get neglected, and we're here to help. Player values can vary wildly from platform to platform, so we'll highlight where players are the best and worst fits, with waiver-wire targets being evaluated in terms of the different scoring systems on ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, Fantrax, and NFBC.

Position eligibility is taken from Fantrax, and players are grouped by their most valuable fantasy position, using a hierarchy of C > 2B > OF > 3B > 1B > SS. Stats and rankings are calculated using games through Saturday, July 6.

Waiver Wire Caveats and APR Explanation

Roster% Thresholds

We use a combination of roster percentages to assess who is in our target pool, relying primarily on Yahoo and ESPN. For some players, you'll notice a wide discrepancy between the two. This is because ESPN's roster percentage is heavily weighted by points players, with guys who don't do well in their system (often because of an inflated strikeout rate) lagging behind the Yahoo! roster percentage.

For this reason, you'll sometimes see players (especially early) who might make you question my sanity in including them in a waiver-wire article, but don't worry, it's just a necessary glitch for coverage purposes.

APR stands for "Average Platform Rank" and is the average hitter rank between the four major point platforms: ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, and Fantrax. All player data is from FanGraphs and Baseball Savant, with injury information pulled from the Roster Resource section on the former.

Fantasy Baseball First Base Waiver Wire Pickups

Best Choices

Carlos Santana, CLE, 1B (Yahoo: 9%, ESPN: 11%) - Santana was a top-100 hitter in Week 14 but should compile his way to plenty of success in Week 15. Not only will he get seven games, but after getting through Hunter Brown on Monday, it's nothing but mediocre pitching the rest of the way (@HOU, @CHW), with four games against the hapless White Sox in their hitter's paradise.

Nolan Schanuel, LAA, 1B (Yahoo: 18%, ESPN: 15%) - After a one-week "slump" last period (#167), Schanuel is right back to the top-100 zone he's lived in for most of the season (#92 entering Sunday). Schanuel currently has a 78 APR for the season and gets seven games in Week 15, with only one of his fellow left-handers scheduled to start (vs TEX, vs ARI). Even better, that lefty is Patrick Corbin, so-000.

Ryan O'Hearn, BAL, 1B/OF (Yahoo: 31%, ESPN: 25%) - Whenever there aren't many left-handers on the schedule, it's probably a good time to stream O'Hearn. He and the Orioles are only scheduled to see one leftie in Week 15 (vs NYM, vs MIA), so feel free to deploy if needed.

Next Choices

Eric Wagaman, MIA, 1B/3B/OF (Yahoo: 3%, ESPN: 4%) - Wagaman had been fairly solid (though not spectacular) for the last few weeks, but has done a whole lot of nothing in Week 14 (#249 hitter). This week might be a good one to jump back on, with the Marlins getting seven games in good parks (@CIN, @BAL), against three left-handed starters.

Over 100 PA vs LHPs this season, Wagaman has posted a .382 xwOBA and 49% Hard Hit%, with just an 18% BB%.

Ernie Clement, TOR, 1B/2B/3B/SS (Yahoo: 36%, ESPN: 20%) - Our best choice from last week has been somewhat underwhelming so far in Week 14 (#133) but continues to be a reliable source of points production, averaging a 90 APR over his last four periods.  He'll get six games (and two left-handers) against mostly bad starters in Week 15 (@CHW, @ATH).

Rhys Hoskins, MIL, 1B (Yahoo: 33%, ESPN: 10%) - Hoskins hasn't looked right in over a month, but still loves to hit lefties really hard, and the Brewers have three of them on the schedule in Week 15 (vs LAD, vs WSH). In 96 PA, Hoskins is running a 53% HH% and 12% Brl%.

Desperate Choices

Miguel Vargas, CHW, 1B/3B/OF (Yahoo: 31%, ESPN: 29%) - Even a trip to Coors Field couldn't get Vargas out of a two-week slump but maybe seven games (vs TOR, vs CLE) and three left-handers this week might not do the trick, either. Over 89 PA this season, Vargas is slashing .2120/.270/.370, with a .279 wOBA (.245 xwOBA).

Lenyn Sosa, CHW, 1B/2B/3B (Yahoo: 2%, ESPN: 1%) - Lenyn Sosa SZN, anyone? Okay, just kidding, but Sosa has averaged a 100 APR over the last three weeks and gets seven games (and three left-handers) in Week 15 (vs TOR, vs CLE).

Kyle Manzardo, CLE, 1B (Yahoo: 9%, ESPN: 6%) - Manzardo has been unplayable for most of the season, but gets a whole mess of bad pitching over a six-game road trip in Week 15 (@HOU, @CHW), with just one of his fellow lefties set to try and vex him.

On the IL

Fantasy Baseball Second Base Waiver Wire Pickups

Best Choices

Caleb Durbin, MIN, 2B/3B (Yahoo: 17%, ESPN: 6%) - Durbin has averaged a 68 APR over the last three weeks, and the right-hander is set to face three left-handers in Week 15 (vs LAD, vs WSH). Over 57 PA vs LHPs this season, Durbin is slashing .333/.404/.490, with a .394 wOBA and .894 OPS.

Otto Lopez, MIA, 2B/SS (Yahoo: 47%, ESPN: 31%) - Lopez is good enough to be rostered, not just streamed, and he's set up for success again in Week 15, getting seven games on the road against mediocre pitchers in good hitting parks (@CIN, @BAL). While the right-handed Lopez is set to face three left-handed starters, that's not necessarily a great thing, as he's struggled against them in 2025 (.220/.253/.308, .249 wOBA).

Next Choices

Ernie Clement, TOR, 1B/2B/3B/SS (Yahoo: 36%, ESPN: 20%) - Our best choice from last week has been somewhat underwhelming so far in Week 14 (#133) but continues to be a reliable source of points production, averaging a 90 APR over his last four periods.  He'll get six games (and two left-handers) against mostly bad starters in Week 15 (@CHW, @ATH).

Gavin Lux, CIN, 2B/OF (Yahoo: 10%, ESPN: 8%) - I'm generally loath to recommend Lux, but if you're going to take a chance, do it in a week when he'll get six games at home, with only one left-handed starter among a sea of bad pitchers (vs MIA, vs COL).

Desperate Choices

Luis Rengifo, LAA, 2B/3B (Yahoo: 16%, ESPN: 5%) - If you have to stream Rengifo, try and do it when he won't be facing many left-handers (.217/.217/.367, .250 wOBA). Like this week, when the Angels get seven games but just one left-handed starter (vs TEX, vs ARI).

Chase Meidroth, CHW, 2B/3B/SS (Yahoo: 8%, ESPN: 6%) - The rookie has been slumping hard for the last month, but will get seven games and three left-handed starters to try and turn it around against (vs TOR, vs CLE). Not that Meidroth has been great vs LHPs, but slashing .271/.346/.314 is a far cry from what he's managed vs right-handers.

Lenyn Sosa, CHW, 1B/2B/3B (Yahoo: 2%, ESPN: 1%) - Lenyn Sosa SZN, anyone? Okay, just kidding, but Sosa has averaged a 100 APR over the last three weeks and gets seven games (and three left-handers) in Week 15 (vs TOR, vs CLE).

Best Choices

Addison Barger, TOR, 3B/OF (Yahoo: 46%, ESPN: 16%) - Barger is still technically below our Roster% threshold, but really shouldn't be; he's the #9 hitter in Week 14 and has averaged an 88 APR over the last six weeks, including two top-10 finishes. The left-hander gets six games (and two fellow lefties) in Week 15 against mostly poor starters (@CHW, @ATH).

Caleb Durbin, MIN, 2B/3B (Yahoo: 17%, ESPN: 6%) - Durbin has averaged a 68 APR over the last three weeks, and the right-hander is set to face three left-handers in Week 15 (vs LAD, vs WSH). Over 57 PA vs LHPs this season, Durbin is slashing .333/.404/.490, with a .394 wOBA and .894 OPS.

Best Choices

Trevor Story, BOS, SS (Yahoo: 47%, ESPN: 17%) - Fine, Trevor. Fine! This isn't just a dead-cat bounce, and people should pick you up for Week 15 (vs COL, vs TB) and beyond. See? Who says fantasy pundits can't admit when they're wrong?*

Otto Lopez, MIA, 2B/SS (Yahoo: 47%, ESPN: 31%) - Lopez is good enough to be rostered, not just streamed, and he's set up for success again in Week 15, getting seven games on the road against mediocre pitchers in good hitting parks (@CIN, @BAL). While the right-handed Lopez is set to face three left-handed starters, that's not necessarily a great thing, as he's struggled against them in 2025 (.220/.253/.308, .249 wOBA).

Next Choices

Best Choices

Chandler Simpson, TB, OF (Yahoo: 33%, ESPN: 16%) - Simpson is back in the bigs and has gotten right back to being awesome. Since returning on June 24, he's slashing .371/.410/.429 over 39 PA, with five stolen bases (24 SBs in 172 PA this season). The #46 hitter entering Sunday, your time to snag him might already be gone, but if not, grab him for his seven games in Week 15 (@DET, @BOS).

Dane Myers, MIA, OF (Yahoo: 3%, ESPN: 1%) - Myers has been alternating good and bad periods, but I'll be happy to bet on the latter in Week 15, with seven games and four left-handed starters on the schedule (@CIN, @BAL). Over 65 PA vs LHP this season, Myers is slashing an insane .362/.379/.569, with a .433 wOBA, 55% Hard Hit%, and 14% K%.

Tyler Freeman, COL, OF (Yahoo: 15%, ESPN: 14%) -One of waiver-wire staples for a while, Freeman has been good enough to even start away from Coors. He's averaged an 89 APR over the last six periods, with three finishes within the top-50, and three in the 130-140 zone -- can you guess the weeks he was at home?

He might be on the road in Week 15 (@BOS, @CIN), but the parks are still friendly and the pitching is far from overwhelming. Even better, there are no lefties on the schedule, against whom Freeman has struggled mightily. Go ahead and sign me up again.

Jesus Sanchez, MIA, OF (Yahoo: 7%, ESPN: 3%) - You know I love pounding the Jesus, especially when he'll get seven games in good parks (@CIN, @BAL), but three left-handed starters will almost certainly spell doom. Sanchez is slashing .143/.217/.238 vs LHP this season, with a .210 wOBA and 28% K%.

Mickey Moniak, COL, OF (Yahoo: 5%, ESPN: 2%) - Moniak doesn't ever start against left-handers, but has started all but two games against right-handers since the middle of June. With no lefties on the schedule in Week 15 (@BOS, @CIN), expect him to get at least five starts, after finishing #71 in Week 14 and #5 in Week 12.

Fantasy Baseball Catcher Waiver Wire Pickups

Best Choices

Tyler Stephenson, CIN, C (Yahoo: 38%, ESPN: 26%) - Stephenson has bounced back in Week 14 after back-to-back poor finishes and will, at least, be set up for a pile of PAs at home against a lot of suspect starters (vs MIA, vs COL).

Jonah Heim, TEX, C (Yahoo: 6%, ESPN: 7%) - Heim has found himself back in a full-time role lately, starting the last nine games (and 11 of 12) at either catcher or DH. He should rack a ton of plate appearances again in Week 15, with seven games and three left-handers on the schedule (@LAA, @HOU).

Do be aware, though, that while his numbers vs LHPs are better for his career, they've been fairly terrible through 68 PA in 2025 (.206/.235/.333, .246 wOBA).

Next Choices

Victor Caratini, HOU, C (Yahoo: 3%, ESPN: 1%) - One of our sneakiest streams in Week 14, Caratini came through in a big way, finishing as the #22 hitter. Week 15 doesn't look quite as juicy with only one left-handed starter on the schedule (vs CLE, vs TEX), but Caratini is still playing enough to be your dart, if needed.

Sean Murphy, ATL, C (Yahoo: 17%, ESPN: 10%) - Murphy might be worth a stream in a week where the Braves have three left-handed starters on the schedule (@ATH, @STL). He's been an extreme whiffer against them this season (37% K%) but makes it count when making contact -- Murphy has a 19.4% Brl% and .500 SLG vs LHP in 2025.

Desperate Choices

Jacob Stallings, BAL, C (Yahoo: 0%, ESPN: 0%) - The perennial part-timer hasn't suddenly improved, but with Gary Sanchez just joining Adley Rutschman on the IL, Stallings will have a chance to compile plenty of playing time in Week 15 (vs NYM, vs MIA).

On the IL
