ESL Pro League Season 14

Best of 3

  • NiP (Even) vs. mousesports (-130)
  • Vitality (-190) vs. Complexity (+150)

Captain Plays

ZywOo: If he isn't the best player in the world he is definitely at least Top 2. He has been scoring phenomenally during this tournament. Scoring 83, 79, 76, 84, and 73 in the 5 group play games. He is completely on another level. So far during the tournament, he is averaging a 1.48 K/D with a .86 KPR and a very low .58 DPR. He is a player you just lock in and you don't look back because he is just so damn good at CS that it isn't even fair. He also is getting a complexity team without K0nfig. Should be a feasting zone for ZywOo. And even if Complexity steals a map, ZywOo is one of those players that will make up for the RNP bonus and sometimes even outscore it. Either way, you are in a good position rostering him.

Ropz: I don't think you can wrong with ropz or frozen, but based on what I have the projected maps being, I think Ropz fits best in the captain spot. For the first two maps, I have them being Ancient and Nuke at the moment.  Ropz has a 1.24 and a 1.31 K/D on those maps. He played well in the group play for this tournament and only had a negative performance in the game against NaVi where they were blown out. Over the last month of play, he has a 1.18 K/D and is averaging a .71 KPR and a low .60 DPR. This is going to be a close matchup and I wouldn't be surprised to see a third map, but ropz is one of the best on his team.

Other captain plays in order of preference: device, blameF (GPP), misutaaa, frozen

Value Plays

apEX: apEX really played well during the group stage, up until the last game where he went -11. But other than that he had positive games in all 4 others. If Vitality can sweep Complexity then I think we see a good performance from apEX and should see him score well. In the three sweeps that Vitality had, He scored 61, 76, and 57. During the tournament so far he has averaged a 1.05 K/D with a .67 KPR and a .64 DPR. At 6,400$ he is a very viable option especially with the possibility of a sweep being had. If you need the extra Salary relief, then going to Kyojin isn't a bad idea either but apEX has shown to be much more consistent recently.

Plopski: As for the other side of things we have Plopski, at 5,800$ I think we are getting great value from him, and I love Plopski as a one-off to run back your Mousesports stacks or in a NiP stack if that's the route you choose to go. In their three wins during group play, Plopski had a +4, +12, and a +15. This game is going to be close and as the odds indicate, I think there is a good chance we see map 3. Hopefully, Plopski can continue to play well into the playoffs as he is in a great spot to smash his 5,800$ price tag.

Other value plays in order of preference: jks(GPP), Kyojin, Dexter, Bymas

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Vitality: Between the two games, Vitality is definitely the safest pick. I do think their Group was a much more difficult one with the likes of Heroic, Astralis, and Ence all being great teams. Complexity had a decent group but with G2 playing as poorly as they did, I think that really took a hit to their credibility. Complexity is still without K0nfig which I believe is a huge part of this team. I have to pick Vitality to win this one, Complexity might steal a map if they get one of their top map picks but otherwise, this is more than likely a sweep.

As for players, ZywOo is a lock. The best player on the slate by far and we don't have to dive too deep into that. After that I really like misutaaa, he has really stepped up recently and has been consistently a great player for the team. Shox I'm not big on as it seems he has regressed in recent months and just hasn't played to the level we have seen him play in the past. apEX was going crazy during the group play, which was great for ZywOo, so he can give his back a bit of a rest. It is also a nice price at 6,400$. Kyojin, I like him at his price, but the level of play is very inconsistent. If possible, I recommend forcing the extra 1,000$ and getting apEX, who has shown to be much more consistent as of late.

Other stacking options: mousesports, NiP
