BLAST Premier Fall Showdown

Best of 3

  • Lynn Vision (+2000) vs. G2 (-10000)
  • OG (-325) vs. paiN Gaming (+230)
  • MAD Lions (-125) vs. Evil Geniuses (-105)

Captain Plays

mantuu: It's pretty clear that any of G2's players are in good spots and all should get that nice sweep bonus as well, so I'm not gonna waste the time talking your ear off about players who are -10000 favorites to win. OG on the other hand has an interesting game against paiN who has been more on the rise as of recently in the NA region. They could give OG a run for their money but now that this is back online, we get mantuu back in his zone. mantuu has been consistently one of the more impressive players for this team. Over the last three months, he has a 1.29 K/D with an average KPR of .70 and a low DPR of .54. OG should be able to win here by the sweep and I like mantuu to have a great game.

Woro2k: I absolutely love this play. We are getting an elite player in what should be a close matchup at a fantastic price of 8,400$. I wouldn't say MAD Lions is a top-tier team by any means but they are facing a team that is about on their level. EG has been very poor and struggled in their NA matchups, they have really fallen off the wagon. Woro struggled against the likes of Dignitas or Vitality but showed out against Ence and OG. MADLions has shown they can beat some top teams and I think they come out on top of this matchup with Woro2k leading the charge. His K/D over the last three months is 1.31 with an insane .82 KPR and a low .62 DPR.

Other captain plays in order of preference: G2 players, flameZ, jl, valde,

Value Plays

Sausol: Sausol isn't the most consistent player but he has flashed upside when MADLions wins their games. He is very cheap and is usually one of the top three fraggers on the team. If you can afford JL then he is probably the better pick but I like Sausol as a pair with Woro2k in MadLions stacks where you need to save money. Sausol holds a decent K/D at 1.04 with a KPR of .69 and a DPR of .66. If MadLions wins this match, I expect Sausol, JL, and Woro2k to be the top players for the team. Sausol is also only 6k.

niko: niko is really a punt play that is in a good spot for a sweep. He is very cheap at 5,800 and all we are hoping for is a slightly positive K/D with that sweep bonus. There is a lot of top players on the slate and getting them could prove difficult with such large favorites. If you want to get someone like NiKo or hunter then getting the value is going to be necessary. I think we get that in someone like niko. niko holds a .94 K/D with a .62 KPR and a .67 DPR. He has played well in some games and with this being favored towards his team, hopefully, we get one of those games.

Other value plays in order of preference: nexa, Jackz, B0rup, MICHU, saffee (GPP), Brehze

Top Stacks / Team Picks

OG: Getting G2 to stack nicely, and still have a decent line afterward is very difficult unless you punt your captain spot and pray. G2 are such massive favorites that I worry they won't score very well if the games do not go very many rounds. OG, on the other hand, has a decent team opposing them and although I think paiN is a good team, I see them struggling to keep up with a team that is as good as OG is. They will take a few rounds I think but in the end, OG should come out with a win and more than likely the sweep as well.

As for players, mantuu and flamez have shown that they are the best options to go to, they tend to be your top fraggers hence why they are the most expensive for OG. For the rest of them, valde isn't a bad option and has flashed upside in some games. Aleksib is the only play from OG that I'm not on. In his spot, I'd either rather pay up and get valde, or pay down and get niko and save some money. niko is cheap and presents great value if OG gets the sweep considering he is only 5,800$.

Other stacking options: G2(duh), MadLions, EG
