Should you draft KC Concepcion, Germie Bernard, or Ted Hurst in fantasy football in 2026? RotoBaller's fantasy outlooks for these rookies wide receivers.
Hitting on rookie picks in redraft leagues is a quick way to elevate the ceiling of your fantasy roster. That advantage can manifest in a lot of different ways.
Sometimes it requires taking a highly drafted rookie who is a starter in Week 1 and is consistently earning snaps. Other times, it is identifying a rookie who may not have a big role early that will gradually get more opportunities as the season goes on.
This article will examine three rookies who were top-100 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, KC Concepcion, Germie Bernard, and Ted Hurst III, who are available in the later rounds and can make an impact in fantasy football. Let’s examine if any of them are worth targeting in fantasy in 2026.

KC Concepcion 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook
For many, KC Concepcion deserved to be in the top tier of wide receivers during the 2026 pre-draft process. Concepcion was used in a gadget role during his first two college seasons at North Carolina State (124 receptions for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns with 60 carries for 356 yards and two touchdowns in 25 games) before transferring to Texas A&M for his final season.
With the Aggies, Concepcion was used as a more traditional receiver and impressed with his explosiveness after the catch. Concepcion finished with 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging a career-high 15.1 yards per reception in an inconsistent passing offense.

Concepcion has some drop issues, but impressed throughout the pre-draft process, landing with the Cleveland Browns with a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Concepcion has been used in a variety of ways this summer, with new head coach Todd Monken tapping into his natural ability with the ball in his hands.
It’s fair to question how good Cleveland’s offense can be with the worst quarterback room in the NFL, but Concepcion should be a Day 1 starter with an offensive play caller who can get him the ball in creative ways. He has the talent to overcome his environment with enough volume.
Germie Bernard 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook
Germie Bernard was a surprising second-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2026 NFL Draft. Bernard was the most productive wide receiver for Alabama in 2025 (64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns), but was seen mostly as a slot-based wide receiver at the NFL level. A surprising 40-yard dash (4.48 seconds) was enough to show that maybe he would have a future on the outside.
Bernard’s landing spot isn’t ideal for his first season. On one hand, the Steelers have a new offensive system after hiring head coach Mike McCarthy, with Aaron Rodgers returning under center. That should be good for whatever player wins the slot receiver position. The bigger issue is there is a lot of target competition with DK Metcalf returning and Michael Pittman Jr. added this offseason.
Beat reports suggest that Bernard has struggled to beat out veteran Roman Wilson for the team’s primary slot role, which means that Bernard will need to gradually earn trust within the offense (or get on the field via injury).
Bernard is a talented player, but there isn’t a clear path to volume in a slower, run-centric offense in 2026.
Ted Hurst III 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook
Few players had a better pre-draft process than Georgia State wide receiver Ted Hurst III. Hurst, a small school prospect, put up big stats in his two seasons at Georgia State (127 receptions for 1,965 yards and 15 touchdowns), but questions about his competition level persisted.
Hurst put those to rest with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl and continued to see his stock rise after a strong combine performance (6-foot-3, 206 pounds with a 4.42 40-yard dash). He was ultimately taken in the third round of the NFL Draft by a Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense looking for a red zone weapon to replace Mike Evans.
Tampa Bay has a lot of returning talent at wide receiver, even with Evans leaving in free agency. Chris Godwin Sr., Emeka Egbuka, Jalen McMillan, and Tez Johnson have all shown the ability to be productive at the NFL level at varying degrees, but none have the blend of size and speed to be a downfield contested catch specialist.
The Buccaneers have already had Egbuka and McMillan miss time this summer due to minor injuries, which has given Hurst opportunities within the offense. He has made the most of those opportunities more often than not.
Hurst may not have a defined role as a rookie, but he’s got an excellent chance to earn a greater role as the season goes on in an offense that hopes to be explosive in 2026.
Who Should You Draft in 2026 Fantasy Football?
All three of Concepcion (ADP: 130.9), Bernard (218.5), and Hurst (241.0) are going in the later rounds in the draft. Concepcion (WR46) is the most expensive player in the least consistent offense, but his talent and opportunities should offset those concerns.
Concepcion is the only player who has a defined role in Week 1, but both Bernard and Hurst are intriguing bench receivers that can be churned if injuries happen or other players emerge early in the season.
