On Saturday afternoon, the NASCAR Cup Series held the qualifying session to set the starting lineup for this weekend's Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte, the final road course race of the season and the last race in the Round of 12 for the Playoffs.
The qualifying session consisted of just one round, as is the current protocol for many Cup Series races this season.
