Welcome back RotoBallers to our Week 5 fantasy football kicker rankings, streamers and starts. Another week is in the books, filled was plenty of action. Before we get to this week's rankings and picks, let’s see how last week’s streaming kickers performed for fantasy players.
Cairo Santos and Chad Ryland were the two streaming kickers fantasy players wanted to avoid last week. Santos had only four fantasy points against the Denver Broncos. Meanwhile, Ryland scored only two fantasy points against the Dallas Cowboys in a blowout loss. Both kickers finished in the bottom 10 for the week. Hopefully, fantasy players avoided both and got the Week 4 victory.
The only easy win came last week. So, let’s look at the top streaming kickers and kicker rankings for Week 5.

Streaming Kickers to Target in Week 5
All streamers in this article are rostered in under 60% of Yahoo leagues.
Brandon Aubrey (DAL) vs. San Francisco 49ers (50% Rostered)
I don’t understand how Brandon Aubrey is still available in half of Yahoo leagues. The former USFL star has averaged 12.8 fantasy points per game this season, scoring double-digits in every contest. Furthermore, he hasn’t missed a field goal this year, making all 13 attempts. Aubrey is the only kicker in the NFL making 100% of his field goals among players with at least 10 field goal attempts this season.
This week, the former USFL star faces a San Francisco defense that hasn’t been overly friendly to kickers. The 49ers have held kickers to 6.8 fantasy points per game. However, they have given up nine or more fantasy points twice. More importantly, San Francisco hasn’t faced a dangerous offense like the Cowboys this year. Expect Aubrey to keep his double-digit scoring streak alive in Week 5.
Matt Prater (ARI) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (3% Rostered)
The Cardinals were expected to be the worst team in the NFL this season. However, they have played well despite their 1-3 record. Meanwhile, Matt Prater has been a solid fantasy kicker, averaging 9.3 points per game this year. He has scored at least eight fantasy points in all but one contest. Unfortunately, that one game was last week, where the veteran had only one field goal attempt and scored four fantasy points.
However, fantasy players should expect a bounce-back performance from Prater this week. He has attempted three field goals every game until this past Sunday. More importantly, the Bengals have been outstanding for opposing kickers. Cincinnati has surrendered 11.3 fantasy points per game to kickers this season, giving up double-digits in every contest. Prater will bounce back this week.
Blake Grupe (NO) vs. New England Patriots (2% Rostered)
When the Saints traded away Wil Lutz, many questioned the move. However, Blake Grupe has been solid for New Orleans. The rookie kicker has averaged 8.5 fantasy points per game this season. More importantly, he has scored at least eight fantasy points in all but one game. Furthermore, Grupe has made all but one of his 10 field goal attempts, including all three in Week 4.
While the Saints' offense has struggled to click this season, that has led to more fantasy opportunities for the rookie kicker. Meanwhile, his matchup this week is fantasy-friendly. The Patriots have surrendered 10 fantasy points per game to kickers this year. They have given up 12 or more fantasy points twice, including to Brandon Aubrey last week. Grupe should have a double-digit performance against New England.
Streaming Kickers to Avoid in Week 5
Fantasy players should always stream the kicker position. However, it’s important to avoid picking up and starting a kicker that will be a bust. Let’s see which two kickers you shouldn’t pick up off the waiver wire this week.
Greg Joseph (MIN) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (11% Rostered)
The Vikings' offense has been one of the more fantasy-friendly units in the NFL this season. However, that hasn’t been the case with Greg Joseph. The veteran kicker has averaged only 4.5 points per game this year, scoring six or fewer fantasy points in every contest. He has attempted only two field goals this season, both coming from under 40 yards away.
Unfortunately, his upcoming matchup will make Joseph a bottom-10 kicker this week. The Chiefs have held opposing kickers to only five fantasy points per game in 2023. Furthermore, they have surrendered more than four fantasy points in only one contest. Over the last two weeks, kickers have scored seven total fantasy points against Kansas City. Joseph will be lucky to score five fantasy points this week.
Greg Zuerlein (NYJ) vs. Denver Broncos (3% Rostered)
What Zach Wilson did Sunday night wasn’t a mirage; it really did happen. The former BYU star had arguably the best game of his career against the Chiefs. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn into fantasy points for Greg Zuerlein. The veteran kicker scored only three fantasy points in Week 4. He made only 50% of his field goal attempts, missing a 52-yarder right before halftime.
Zuerlein has averaged only 6.7 fantasy points per game this season, scoring six or fewer fantasy points in all but one contest. Meanwhile, the Broncos haven’t been fantasy-friendly to opposing kickers, surrendering seven fantasy points per game. Furthermore, kickers have scored under six fantasy points against Denver in half the games this season, including last week. While the Jets might take advantage of the Broncos defense in Week 5, Zuerlein is a bottom-10 kicker option.
