When is Jordyn Tyson coming back? Will Jordyn Tyson play again this season? Read about Jordyn Tyson's return date and injury updates for 2026.
Most of the pre-draft process focused on the lack of talent in the 2026 draft class compared to other years. However, one player viewed as a top talent was Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.
That isn’t to say that Tyson was a clean prospect. The talent was clear, but a lengthy injury history led to plenty of skepticism about his profile heading into the draft. Ultimately, those concerns were waved away when Tyson was drafted with a top-10 pick by the New Orleans Saints.
Unfortunately, Tyson wasn’t able to make it through his first training camp without suffering another injury. When is Jordyn Tyson coming back? Is he a player worth drafting in fantasy? Let’s check it out.

Jordyn Tyson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Jordyn Tyson was one of the most polarizing prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft class. When he was on the field, Tyson routinely showed the athleticism and explosiveness to be a difference-making WR1 in the NFL. In his final two collegiate seasons at Arizona State, Tyson had 136 receptions for 1,1812 yards and 18 touchdowns in 21 games. He also averaged 14.4 yards per reception in his career.
Unfortunately, Tyson was off the field far too often. Tyson played nine games as a freshman at Colorado before tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL. He transferred to Arizona State after that season, but was limited to just three games recovering from his injury. 2024 was his best season (12 games played), but a broken collarbone in November ended another season early. Finally, Tyson suffered hamstring injuries in 2025 that limited him to just nine games. In total, he missed 34% of his college games due to injury.
The hamstring injuries lingered throughout the offseason, with several setbacks causing Tyson to miss out on things like the NFL Combine. He was able to do a workout late in the process, which was enough for the New Orleans Saints to draft him with the eighth overall pick. The team didn’t push him through OTAs to give him a chance to heal, but got him on the field during training camp.
Tyson was making plays in training camp and looked like an ideal complement to Chris Olave. Unfortunately, he once again suffered a hamstring injury after catching a pass and turning upfield. Not long after, the team announced that Tyson would miss two to three months healing from the injury.

Looks like he’s favoring his right hamstring/leg, which was the more concerning one from college.
He’s now injured it 4 times:

•late November 2025
•April 2026
•todayHe also didn’t jog off the field, contrary to reports. He’s visibly…

This is now three confirmed hamstring injuries for Tyson in the last year. His talent is undeniable, but his ability to stay on the field is a serious red flag for at least his rookie season.
Jordyn Tyson Fantasy Football Outlook
Jordyn Tyson was steadily rising in ADP throughout the summer thanks to his strong start to training camp. Unfortunately, his latest injury makes him difficult to trust in fantasy.
Rotoballer’s rankings have Tyson slotted in as WR61 heading into the season and a Tier 11 wide receiver, landing amongst veteran WR3s (Keenan Allen, Ryan Flournoy, and Jauan Jennings) and young players with questionable roles (Jalen Nailor and Denzel Boston). However, that doesn’t quite align with his current ADP on Yahoo (92.3, WR36).
Taking Tyson is an exercise in risk management. If you want a top 10 talent in an offense that runs a lot of plays and passes at a high rate, then he’s a worthwhile pick at a discounted ADP. On the other hand, he clearly has a soft tissue injury that he can’t get a handle on and, at best, will miss the first four to six weeks of the regular season if his recovery timeline stays on track.
Tyson’s talent is enough to bet on once he falls outside the top 10 rounds, especially if your league has a deep bench or an injured reserve spot you can stash him on. However, drafting players with significant injuries in training camp rarely works out for fantasy managers.
