Injury Status: Healthy
Though Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy scored 12.0 and 17.0 PPR fantasy points in his last two games, he's still better left on the bench for a Week 7 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys were forced to pass heavily in Week 5 and Week 6, but now face an Eagles team without its starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts (deep vein thrombosis). Flournoy had a nice touchdown grab in Week 6, but that was in garbage time as the Cowboys tried to close the gap when the game was already out of reach. Cowboys wideouts CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have a stranglehold on a dominant combined target share -- the two combined for 29 targets last week as quarterback Dak Prescott attempted 54 passes. Flournoy should have predictable upside in games that Lamb misses, but even then, Pickens would be the clear top wideout. And there's a sizable talent gap between the two top WRs here and everyone else on the team. Flournoy remains a dynasty league stash as normal and a potential waiver-wire pickup candidate if Lamb or Pickens miss time.

Ryan Flournoy flashed lots of potential last season as the Dallas Cowboys' third wide receiver. Ryan Flournoy flashed lots of potential last season as the Dallas Cowboys' third wide receiver. The super sophomore caught 40 passes for 475 yards and four touchdowns while playing third banana behind the terrific twosome of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Flournoy was able to flourish in three-receiver sets since secondaries had to put their top corners on Lamb and Pickens and leave Flournoy one-on-one against lesser cover men. Normally the progression would be that a talented young receiver like him would take his game to another level in Year Three, but it is difficult to see how that will happen when Lamb and Pickens will monopolize so much of the target share as the top tandem in the NFL. Tight end Jake Ferguson also had over 100 targets last season, so Flournoy's target ceiling cannot be much higher than 60-70. The only way Flournoy has a breakout season is if Lamb or Pickens suffers an unfortunate injury, but those two are more prone to suspensions than injuries. Maybe drafting Flournoy in a dynasty league and stashing him for 2027 when Lamb or Pickens might not be on the Cowboys roster is the smartest way to go.less...
