Seattle Kraken right wing Kaapo Kakko (hand) will be sidelined for six weeks, the team announced Saturday. He was diagnosed with a broken hand after Edmonton Oilers defenseman prospect Beau Akey slashed Kakko in Wednesday's preseason game. The injury will probably delay Kakko's season debut until mid-November. He's set to begin his first full campaign in Seattle. The Finnish forward signed a three-year, $13.575 million extension with the Kraken in the offseason after picking up 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) in his first 49 outings with the team last season. With Kakko absent, Eeli Tolvanen and Jordan Eberle are likely to see increased usage.--Taavi Pailk
