Top 10 College Football Quarterback Rankings for 2025: Week 11 Updates

Julian Sayin - College Football Rankings, CFB DFS Lineups, NFL Draft

Dominick's Week 11 college football quarterback rankings for 2025. His top national QBs for Week 11, including Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, Julian Sayin, and more.

Not much changed this week in the QB rankings. There were no magical performances, and this led to another logjam at the top.

While Ty Simpson still appears as the top name on the ranks, it is more of a three-way tie with Fernando Mendoza and Julian Sayin. While Alabama was on a bye before getting ready to take on LSU this weekend, Mendoza was carving up Maryland, and Sayin was doing the same to a Penn State squad that has all but given up.

There is a clear delineation between the three at the top and the rest of these rankings. Whether it stays this way depends on how their teams continue to play. Remember, it was just two weeks ago when Miami was a clearly elite team and was a lock for the playoff. Now, it is on the outside looking in.

Top 10 College Football Quarterbacks for Week 11

Ty Simpson, Alabama

Simpson had a bye week before the upcoming tilt with LSU, so there is not much to say. But I hear he looked good in practice.

Fernando Mendoza, Indiana

Mendoza came into Saturday’s game against Maryland as the prohibitive favorite to go No. 1 in the 2026 NFL Draft. After going 14-of-21 for one touchdown and one interception and rushing six times for 24 yards and another touchdown, Mendoza did nothing to lose the position.

Indiana spent another week putting up 50 points on an overmatched opponent. It is something it has done regularly in 2025 and will continue to do in the weeks ahead.

Mendoza came to Indiana from Cal for an opportunity to play in the playoff and be in the draft. He has accomplished both, and he may also find an additional prize in a Heisman Trophy should he continue his strong play through the conference title game, 55 miles from campus in Indianapolis.

Julian Sayin, Ohio State

Ohio State plays nobody. They never do.

Like many top teams, the Buckeyes see their non-conference schedule as the preseason. Although it changed a bit with a game against Texas this season, Ohio State has still avoided any challenge to its record. Is it better this season than it was in 2024? The short answer is yes. And this starts with Sayin.

Sayin, having the same weapons as Will Howard in 2024, has taken this team to another level. If you believe the rumblings, he should have been the starter last season, but Howard had the money and got the nod. Even Nick Saban admitted he made a big mistake having Sayin on the scout team before he retired, and Sayin transferred to Ohio State.

Both mistakes are now fixed. With Sayin throwing the ball to Jeremiah Smith, Carnell Tate, and Brandon Inniss, he is making the most of his opportunity.

Ohio State might be the only true elite team in 2025. It will have a chance to finally show this if it can beat Michigan and beat a great Indiana team in the Big Ten title game.

Sayin is the favorite for the Heisman Trophy, and the Buckeyes are 2/1 favorites to win the national championship again. Both are safe bets right now.

Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss

After a solid win against Oklahoma, Ole Miss took on a mediocre South Carolina team that had dreams of the playoff before the season.

Chambliss did not take advantage of the matchup, going just 12-of-21 for 159 yards with one touchdown and one pick. But he did not need to do much.

In what amounts to the easiest schedule in the SEC, Chambliss may not have to do anything the rest of the season for the Rebels, who are finally hoping to make the playoff and keep their head coach.

The next challenge for Chambliss and Ole Miss comes Saturday against a plucky Citadel squad that has an upset on its mind. Expect a lot of numbers in a brief time for Chambliss.

Dante Moore, Oregon

After a bye this past week, Moore and the Ducks will travel east to take on a great defense in Iowa, the only team to contain Indiana this season.

If the Hawkeyes can do the same to Moore and the Ducks, there is a real chance for an upset. Moore will need to be his best for the Ducks to finish with a win.

Luke Altmyer, Illinois

Illinois has had a disappointing season. But the same cannot be said for Altmyer, who has attempted to do all he can to get wins for the Illini.

In the 35-16 victory over Rutgers on Saturday, Altmyer accounted for all the points, with four passing touchdowns, and scored the other on one of his seven rushes for 88 yards.

Rutgers is nothing if not consistent. The Scarlet Knights have failed to play defense this whole season, and Altmyer took full advantage. That is all you can do, and he did it well.

After another bye this week, Altmyer will attempt to have another solid game against Maryland and up-and-coming quarterback Malik Washington on November 15.

CJ Carr, Notre Dame

Notre Dame continues to win with the run game in 2025. And why not? You have the best running back duo in the country and a good offensive line. Carr is still a game manager, unlike Sayin, but he plays this part well.

Against an overmatched Boston College team Saturday, Carr was able to show what he could do as he went 18-of-25 for 299 yards and two touchdowns. This week will bring another spot for Carr to shine as the Irish will be taking on the Midshipmen of Navy in the annual showdown.

Navy will not pose much of a challenge in the passing game, and points will be flying for Notre Dame. No matter what happens in this game, do not expect Carr to move much.

Josh Hoover, TCU

Another QB on a bye, Hoover moved up one spot due to the play of Brendan Sorsby and nothing else. With TCU back in action against Iowa State on Saturday, we will wait and see if he remains in the rankings.

Drew Mestemaker, North Texas

North Texas pulled off a home win against a previously undefeated Navy on Saturday. But, unlike previous weeks in which the pass game was the dominant unit, this week it was the run game that had more than 250 yards against the Midshipmen.

For his part, Mestemaker still had 234 yards on 19-of-24 passing. But take it with a grain of salt, as Navy and the other service academies have never been known for their defensive prowess.

The Mean Green are off this week before returning to action on November 15 against UAB. If Mestemaker can once again light up a bad defense like the Blazers, he will remain on the list.

Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati

After making his first appearance on these rankings last week, Sorsby had one of the worst games of the season as Cincinnati went to Salt Lake City and got run out of the stadium, 45-14, by Utah.

Sorsby managed only 221 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 11-of-33 passing against the Utes defense. 88 of those pass yards came on just one play.

Normally a threat in the run game, Sorsby was only able to run four times in this matchup. While scoring a rushing touchdown, the 28 yards put up on the ground were his second-lowest total of the season. If any quarterback needs a bounce back, it is Sorsby. He will need to wait a week to get it, as the Bearcats have a bye this week before taking on Arizona in their next game.
