Dominick's Week 10 college football quarterback rankings for 2025. His top national QBs for Week 10, including Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, CJ Carr, and more.
The top two QBs remain the same this week heading into Week 10.
Other than that, there are fresh faces, while some old faces have dropped out.
As the season draws near an end, the rankings are becoming more solidified. Let’s find out how they look as November starts.
Top 10 College Football Quarterbacks for Week 10
Ty Simpson, Alabama
Even though Alabama almost lost to South Carolina, all teams have these games. It is how you manage them that matters.
Simpson managed it well and led the team down the field on a 14-play drive to get the winning score. After South Carolina failed on the ensuing drive and fumbled near midfield, Alabama had the victory it needed. Going 24-of-43 for 253 yards and two touchdowns, Simpson did what he has done all season in being the true leader of the Crimson Tide. He found his open receivers and, when needed, took off for the tough yard.
Alabama has no trouble with good teams. It gets up and ready for these games. But it seems to struggle with the mediocre teams. If it does not overlook any opponents the rest of the year, there will be no mediocre teams once it hits the playoffs, and Simpson will have his time to shine for Alabama.
Fernando Mendoza, Indiana
Another week, another 50-point home win for Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers. Mendoza did not have to do much to win this game over a resurgent UCLA and Tim Skipper. He did just enough, as he was 15-of-22 for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception for the game.
UCLA ran into a buzzsaw in the Hoosiers, and the saw will continue to chop until Indianapolis and a likely showdown with No. 1 Ohio State.
Not a fluke any longer, Indiana is for real. It is much better this season than in 2024, and the main reason is Mendoza at the quarterback position. Mendoza has taken his game to a new level since arriving from Cal. He took the team with him and got his head coach a massive raise. Hopefully, some of which went directly into the pocket of Mendoza.
Mendoza is the clear No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. But he wants to finish his business in Bloomington first. This will be a fun finish.
Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati
This might seem like a big move into the ranks for Sorsby. You would be right. But look at his stats for the 7-1 Bearcats, and you see exactly why he has made this move. Wanting to wait a bit to see if he kept things going was also a factor in such a big move. Much like another quarterback who makes his initial appearance this week.
Sorsby has 1,843 yards on 133-of-204 passing. He has accounted for 20 touchdowns to just one interception while also rushing the ball 69 times for an additional seven rushing touchdowns on 425 yards.

At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Sorsby is a bulldozer in the run game to go along with his passing. This talent has Cincinnati in the current pole position in the Big 12, with its only loss coming out of conference on the first Thursday of the season against Nebraska. But as he mentioned on the "Andy & Ari On3" podcast, he still got to meet Travis Kelce. But not Taylor Swift, unfortunately. If he gets as good as he could be, he might eventually get to meet her at a Super Bowl.
Sorsby has a chance to give the Bearcats their best season since entering the Big 12 conference. In many ways, he already has. Let’s see how far it goes.
Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
Austin Simmons got injured, and Chambliss took over. This was the end of Simmons for the season and in Oxford. Chambliss, the transfer from Ferris State, proved himself again Saturday in the Rebels' 34-26 win at Oklahoma against one of the top-5 defenses in the nation.
Although finishing with just one touchdown, Chambliss showed his true talent for escape with 12 carries for 53 yards. This, in addition to 315 yards passing and being sacked just once, allowed Ole Miss to pull off the upset as a 4.5-point underdog.
The rest of the schedule is supposed to be a cakewalk. If it turns out this way, Lane Kiffin may finally make the playoffs before his exit from Oxford. Ok, he should stay. But will he?
CJ Carr, Notre Dame
Not much to say about Carr. He did not lose his spot on this list as much as Chambliss took it from him. Carr, who is coming off a bye week, will now go to Chestnut Hill to take on 1-7 Boston College, a team that has yet to beat an FBS opponent in 2025. Watch for fireworks on Saturday from both Carr and the run game of the Fighting Irish.
Julian Sayin, Ohio State
The other new member on this list is Sayin. With the luxury of having Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith to throw to, he is becoming a top quarterback. Sayin is also moving into the stratosphere of Heisman Trophy odds for the national championship favorite Buckeyes.

Ohio State is a machine right now. With all the difficulties in State College, the Buckeyes enter Saturday’s game against Penn State as 20.5-point favorites at home. It might not be enough if Ryan Day wants to put his foot on the throat of the Nittany Lions.
Sayin has managed the game well in his first season as a starter. The fact that he has the best defense in the country on the opposite side of the ball does not hurt, either. He may not find a spot atop these rankings, but he deserves to be on them.
Dante Moore, Oregon
Moore had a terrible game against an even worse Wisconsin team on Saturday. With 86 yards and zero touchdowns on 9-of-15 passing, Moore also managed to be sacked twice. There is talk, not totally credible, but talk of a competition for the position heading into the final run of the season.
Moore has done too well for this to be true. But it can be said that if he does not start to rebound, Oregon will once again find itself disappointed with its result this year.
Luke Altmyer, Illinois
There is a good chance Illinois forgot it only had one bye week. In what turned out to be a 42-25 loss in Seattle to Washington, Altmyer and the Illini failed to show up.
Altmyer completed 22-of-34 passes for only 199 yards with two touchdowns and two picks as Illinois took its third loss of the season. Many around the team and around the media thought the Illini would end up in the playoff. Instead, they rank 12th in the Big Ten and will have to settle for another disappointing year.
Josh Hoover, TCU
Hoover slid once again this week as TCU was unable to beat up on a less talented West Virginia team in Morgantown. TCU still came out on top with a 23-17 victory, but Hoover was not impressive, throwing just one touchdown and 247 yards on 24-of-39 passing.
On a bye this week, Hoover might fall completely out of these rankings before taking on Iowa State next week. If he can do something against the Cyclones, he might just rebound right away and find his place again.
Drew Mestemaker, North Texas
Mestemaker is a walk-on quarterback who never started a game in high school. This sounds like a Disney movie. It is, instead, a true story of the North Texas quarterback who just broke a school and American Conference record for passing yards in a game with 608 against Charlotte. He also threw for four touchdowns and one pick against the 49ers on 37-of-49 passing.
Mestemaker has the Mean Green in contention for the American Conference title. In a crowded field of contenders, Mestemaker can give North Texas an offensive edge in many matchups. Already having a conference loss to South Florida, the journey will be tough. But if anyone has the arm to lead their team back, it is Mestemaker.
***Note***
Beau Pribula, Missouri
Pribula had a chance to stay on the rankings list for the remainder of the season. Due to a severe injury against Vanderbilt in Week 9, he is now set to miss the remaining games.
It is tough to see as Pribula, in his first year starting after transferring from Penn State, had the Missouri Tigers in the playoff chase. With true freshman Matt Zollers of Spring-Ford High School in Royersford, Pa., taking over, the season is over for Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers.
This may also be the end of the road for Drinkwitz at Missouri. Watch him be offered several open positions this offseason. For Pribula, this could mean his third school in three years. Unless he and/or Drinkwitz decide the grass is not always greener and remain in Columbia.
