Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 17: 2/9-2/22

Thunder Dan's fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups for Week 17 of the 2025-26 NBA season. Consider these players as fantasy basketball adds, streamers, and stashes.

The trade deadline has come and gone, and while we see a good bit of player movement, we also saw some superstars stay put as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant, Michael Porter Jr., and Domantas Sabonis remained with their current clubs. The number of players already being rested and even pulled early from games (Utah, we are looking at you!) is getting out of control. Multiple teams have already entered full tank mode, and the "Silly Season" is arriving earlier this year than ever before.

Most leagues combine the games before and after the All-Star break into one giant week, so that's how I will approach this week's article, too, treating Week 17 as the two-week span that takes us through the break and out the other side.

As a reminder, I have been using the 25% rostered threshold on Yahoo as my cutoff for standard leagues, so there could be some players not mentioned in this article who are still valuable pick-ups, especially if you play in 10-team leagues or shallower formats. For those deep-leaguers, I always feature a section of players who are rostered in 10% or fewer leagues. Here are my top waiver adds and streamers for Week 17 of the fantasy basketball season.

• Two teams to avoid in this scoring period are the Celtics and Raptors, who both play only three games. Every other NBA team plays four or five times.
• Teams with three games in four days BEFORE the break are the Lakers, Bucks, Thunder, Jazz, and Trail Blazers.
• Teams with three games in four days AFTER the break are the Hawks, Nets, Hornets, Bulls, Cavs, Nuggets, Pacers, Clippers, Knicks, Magic, Sixers, Suns, and Wizards.

Standard League Adds - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 17

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Standard Leagues" refer to 10- or 12-team leagues.

I am going back to 25% or lower as the cutoff again this week, with 10% or below right around where I draw the line between standard-league and deep-league adds.

Cason Wallace - PG/SG/SF (24%)

I have been the guy who has been saying all season that Wallace is a "steals streamer only," but he's picked up the scoring in a big way lately and should continue to see more opportunities on offense with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out for the next few weeks. He's a top-70 player over the last two weeks and eligible at three positions; grab him in all formats.

GG Jackson II - SF/PF (22%)

Jackson was one of the big winners in Memphis in the Jaren Jackson Jr. deal. The Grizzlies shipped off Jackson to Utah, and the only player they got in return who could threaten his minutes is Taylor Hendricks.

He's posting some very solid, well-rounded lines since entering the starting lineup, and even a 28-minute role as the starter is enough for him to have standard-league value.

Jarace Walker - SF/PF (21%)

Our cover athlete from last week performed quite well for us and continues to earn solid minutes for the Pacers, whether he's starting or coming off the bench. The trade of Bennedict Mathurin opens up plenty of minutes for him going forward, and on nights when the Pacers rest Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard, Walker can go nuts - we have seen it already. I think he should be rostered in all formats at this point.

Will Riley - SF (19%)

The Washington rookie has come on in a big way lately, logging 25 or more minutes in five straight games and producing pretty much across the board except blocks and FT%.

The Wizards are blatantly tanking, and it's making it tough to trust their usual starters, but Riley looks like one of the biggest benefactors of their youth movement. He should be snagged everywhere with what he's shown lately.

Brook Lopez - C (17%)

Lopez has life once again as Ivica Zubac was sent to the Pacers at the deadline. I do think that eventually we see more of Yanic Konan Niederhauser and maybe even Isaiah Jackson, but for now, it looks like Lopez could play about 30 minutes for the Clippers. He does enough in boards, threes, and blocks to make him a solid pick-up in 12-team leagues.

Jay Huff - C (15%)

We won't see Zubac right away, and I think it could easily be after the break until he debuts. The Pacers have very little motivation to play Zubac much down the stretch, so Huff should hang onto some value for now, as Isaiah Jackson was shipped off to L.A. in the Zubac trade.

Collin Sexton - PG/SG (15%)

Sexton landed in Chicago as the Bulls sent Coby White to Charlotte at the deadline, which is actually a good thing for Sexton's value (and certainly not for White's). He made his Bulls debut last night, playing 29 minutes off the bench and went 17-3-4. Josh Giddey could return to action this week, but I am skeptical that Chicago rushes him back as they've now punted the season.

With Tre Jones also hurt, Sexton only has to contend with Jaden Ivey and Anfernee Simons for minutes at both guard slots, and there is probably enough to go around for all three to have modest value in the short term.

Moses Moody - SG/SF/PF (15%)

Moody will absolutely drive you crazy, but the minute that you drop him, he goes out and puts up a monster line, right? I think we should probably just be holding right now with the state of the Warriors being where it is in the post-Butler injury landscape. The big games will balance out the mediocre ones.

Day'Ron Sharpe - C (14%)

We may never see him in the 25 to 30-minute role that we really want, but Sharpe has been doing enough lately in 19 minutes to push him up to a ranking of 110 over the last two weeks.

He's a nice guy for the end of your bench, and there's still a chance that Brooklyn shuts down Nicolas Claxton early, or at least gives him some extra rest days down the stretch.

Dominick Barlow - PF/C (14%)

The suspension of Paul George has opened up minutes for both Barlow and Kelly Oubre Jr. He had a 26-point, 16-rebound game not all that long ago and is a solid source of points, boards, and FG% when he's getting at least 25 minutes.

Philly just converted his contract into a standard deal, so he'll be around the rest of the season. With five games this scoring period, and at least one back-to-back where Joel Embiid could be rested, I like Barlow a good bit.

Tim Hardaway Jr. - SG/SF (14%)

Denver suffered another long-term injury last week when Peyton Watson was lost for a month. It looks like they'll roll with Cameron Johnson at power forward as Aaron Gordon is also out, leaving THJ, Christian Braun, Julian Strawther, and Bruce Brown to split the minutes on the wing.

We know the deal with THJ, he's basically points and threes only, but with five games on the schedule this week, he makes for a compelling option if he keeps getting minutes in the high twenties.

Aaron Wiggins - SG/SF (12%)

He has a boring fantasy profile, but he's still very useful when playing as many minutes as he has been lately. He can score the ball and provide some solid threes and boards. OKC plays five games in this scoring period, and they should be pretty short-handed with SGA, Jalen Williams, and Ajay Mitchell all set to miss time.

Scoot Henderson - PG (12%)

Scoot finally made his debut and dropped 11 points and nine assists in only 21 minutes, reminding us of his assist upside. He rested the very next night, and he'll probably take a while to ramp up to normal minutes. But even a 25-minute bench role is enough for Henderson to have some value in steals and assists. The time to snag him is now, before he posts another good line.

Dylan Cardwell - PF/C (11%)

Sure, Sabonis is still around after the deadline, but he's going to be rested plenty down the stretch. Cardwell has two double-doubles in a row and is still a great candidate for "Silly Season Hero of the Year" with his ability to stuff the stat sheet, especially in blocks.

Gui Santos - SF/PF (10%)

Santos has been impressive in a larger role lately, averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks. Those numbers will play in any format! He's worth a grab now until we see how this rotation shakes out once Kristaps Porzingis suits up and Steph Curry comes back from his injury.

Robert Williams III - C (10%)

The Time Lord is a top-20 player in 9-CAT over the last two weeks in just 19 minutes per game! Of course, he did sit out last night, so those rest days on back-to-backs are frustrating. However, you can probably get four games out of him this period as the Blazers play five times and have just one B2B.

Guerschon Yabusele - PF/C (9%)

Yabusele was riding the pine in New York, but was instantly given minutes in Chicago as the Bulls have very little depth in their frontcourt after trading away Nikola Vucevic. He's actually a pretty sneaky good fantasy player with minutes.

It remains to be seen if Nick Richards or Leonard Miller, who were both also acquired in trades, will have substantial roles in the post-deadline rotation. So for now, I'd add Yabu in deep leagues and see if he can't sustain a 25-minute role from now on.

Marvin Bagley III - PF/C (7%)

Bagley has a new life in Dallas, where he can compete with Daniel Gafford for minutes at the center position. He went for 16 points and 12 boards in his debut, and with Gafford's inability to stay healthy, I like Bagley's chances of producing down the stretch.

AJ Green - PG/SG/SF (7%)

Green has been on fire over his last three games, drilling 15 threes over that span. He saw 36 and 37 minutes in his last two games, and we could see him log heavy minutes for this Milwaukee team that is now in tank mode for the rest of the season. If you need an efficient three-point shooter, Green is your guy.

Pat Spencer - PG/SG (4%)

You have probably moved on from his brother Cam, as Memphis now has a very crowded backcourt, but the former lacrosse star has returned to viability thanks to an injury to Steph Curry. We saw Spencer have a nice run earlier this year when Steph was out, and his last three games are a good reminder of what he can do with 30 minutes a night.

Tristan Vukcevic - PF/C (4%)

I love the idea of stashing "the other Vooch" now that Bagley is in Dallas. The big Euro doesn't need huge minutes to be productive and has a very attractive fantasy skill set.

Isaiah Joe - SG/SF (3%)

The arrival of Jared McCain at the deadline complicates things a bit, but Joe doubled his minutes last night against Houston and dropped 21 points with three treys and a perfect eight for eight at the charity stripe. He can score the basketball, but is basically limited to points, threes, and FT% in terms of his impact in 9-CAT leagues. He's a solid pickup in points formats, though, for sure.

Nique Clifford - SG/SF (3%)

It took a long time, but Clifford is finally getting starters' minutes in Sacto and showcasing the skills that made him a first-round pick in last year's draft. He played a lot of ball in college and didn't take long to acclimate to the NBA game.

He's coming off a career-high 30 points against the Cavs last night, and the Kings have signaled that they're going to rest veterans and play the young guys already.

Bruce Brown - SG/SF (3%) and Julian Strawther - SG/SF (1%)

Brown continues to come off the bench and anchor the second unit. He's a punt-points guy whose value is mainly in rebounds, assists, and steals. He's on a nice little run right now, and the Peyton Watson injury means he'll likely maintain a substantial amount of playing time going forward.

Strawther drew the start last night against Chicago and had an impressive 19 points on 50% shooting and four three-pointers. He can rack up steals in bunches in addition to some assists, so give him a look for this five-game week.

Nolan Traore - PG (1%)

The Nets are a team we want to monitor pretty closely in the final months of the season. They did not trade away MPJ or Nicolas Claxton, but they did kick Cam Thomas to the curb, which is a good thing for the playing time of other Brooklyn guards.

Traore has started several games now alongside Egor Demin, and his last two lines were impressive, going 21-3-7 and 15-3-4 on some efficient shooting. He's a sneaky add for the five-game week and a solid stash candidate for deeper leagues.
