New York Islanders defenseman Matthew Schaefer became the youngest blue-liner in NHL history to record a multi-goal game on Sunday, helping the team to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Schaefer produced a power-play goal in the first period and netted a late game-tying goal during even-strength play in the third. At 18 years and 58 days old, Schaefer broke Bobby Orr's record by 190 days. Schaefer has had no trouble adjusting to this level, starting his NHL career with a six-point game streak. After 12 games, he sits on 10 points (five goals, five assists), becoming only the second 18-year-old defenseman in history to reach double-digit points in just 12 games. --Taavi Pailk
