NBA DFS Prop Picks for PrizePicks: Friday, April 8th

Trae Young - Atlanta Hawks

Jake King-Finnen presents his Fantasy Score NBA DFS prop picks on PrizePicks for April 8th. Use his NBA prop picks recommendations to win money on PrizePicks.

Friday hits us with nine games consisting of just one non-conference game, so with the season ending on a massive, 15-game Sunday, this is your second-to-last abundant slate. The Rockets and Raptors are secured in the standings and these last days don’t mean much to either team. Houston doesn’t have to adjust their roster to continue tanking and Toronto can’t move up or down in seeding with only two games left on their schedule. Assuming the Raptors want to be healthy for the playoffs, don’t expect a fully available roster. That should allow players like Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. to continue to post massive stat lines, and since it hasn’t helped Houston's record any, it still fits “their” ultimate goal of tanking. Most of the teams playing tonight would benefit from resting starters rather than improving seeding. There is a lot on the line on paper, but proper management would prioritize the individual just before they are needed most in the postseason. Players are not getting full workloads and starting the game doesn’t mean they are finishing it. Know as much about the situation as you can before placing bets.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest to win NBA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, March 1.

.

Kevin Durant OVER 31.5 Points – There’s no wrong way to look at how Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving play basketball. Their mistakes are limited and potential increases every second they are on the court. As long they are playing and heading into each game with the objective of winning, there is no under that is a safe bet. Looking across the board, both assist and point totals are looking feasible given the Cavaliers are still without their most important defender, Jarrett Allen. Not only will both Nets superstars be able to capitalize on rookie Evan Mobley being the only paint presence, but so will players like Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton. The Cavaliers have no choice but to engage in shootouts with opposing teams and there are few players better at putting the ball in the basket than Durant and Irving.

Kristaps Porzingis OVER 22.5 Points – The end of the season doesn’t offer enough variance to discredit a Kristaps Porzingis revenge game. Not that Washington has expanded his skill-set, but looking specifically at his rebounding and peripheral stats, something has clearly changed. For the first time in his career, Porzingis is being utilized, and more importantly, playing like the physical force he is. Instead of catering to the things he struggles at, playing with the Wizards has opened up his offense from the inside-out, and his aggressiveness on rebounds and ability to play in pace is much better suited compared to the slow-burning playstyles he’s been subjected to. In Dallas, Porzingis fought teammates for rebounds and was forced to box-out, rendering his 7’3 frame useless. In Washington, he has the teammates willing to box-out to make it even easier for their tallest player to do what he does best. Be tall. Facing Mitchell Robinson is never an easy task and Porzingis scored 18 points on nine shots last time they played, all while grabbing 11 rebounds in just his sixth game with the Wizards. Robinson is currently listed as out tonight.

Trae Young OVER 10.5 Assists – Over the past two years, Trae Young has never posted more than 10 assists in a game against the Miami Heat. Going back any further is just pointless, but looking forward and there’s two things that will happen in this game. Trae Young will be the one player able to generate enough offense and gravity for his teammates to play off of, and the Miami Heat will funnel that exact offense until the Hawks are left hoping Clint Capela can beat his matchup. It’s happened nearly every time, where the Hawks do everything they can to get Young the ball, but the effort it takes to get him open dilutes the effort needed to actually score once he gets it, not just settle for a 30-foot jumper coming off a weakly set screen. With the current climate of both teams and playoff situations, there’s no way you take the under here. Anything about Young’s recent play suggests he drills the over shortly after halftime, but the numbers from past games suggest otherwise. Good offense beats good defense in the NBA and Trae Young’s offense is currently good.
