DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/13/20): NBA DFS Lineups

Welcome back to RotoBaller, your source for all things fantasy sports! Tonight is the last NBA DFS slate before the All-Star break and it's only two games. These small slates make for great GPP slates, but exercise some caution tonight with bankroll management and I usually advise skipping cash games on two-game slates as well.

Both games are without Vegas totals at this time, but they both carry tight spreads with the Celtics slight 1.5 point favorites at home against the Clippers and the Pelicans also 2.5 point home favorites against the Oklahoma City Thunder. All four teams come into tonight in pretty good health with Patrick Beverley (out) and Brandon Ingram (questionable) being the only major pieces on the injury report.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jrue Holiday - PG/SG, NO vs. OKC ($7,900)

Jrue is one of the first guys I'll click into my lineups tonight if Brandon Ingram is unable to play. Ingram has now missed two games in a row and I could definitely see the Pelicans decide to give him one more night off before the break to get completely healthy for the second half. In his last two games, Holiday has posted 61 and 45 DK points and had 10 assists in each. When Ingram is out, Holiday takes over as the primary facilitator on offense for the Pelicans and that's when I want to target him in DFS. He's a great rebounder for a guard and solid defender who averages 2.6 blocks/steals per game. While the arrival of Zion Williamson has smoothed out the production among the Pelicans starters for the most part, I still feel pretty comfortable targeting Jrue here at this price and there simply aren't that many options to choose from tonight at shooting guard, which is where I'll slot him into my lineups.

Chris Paul - PG, OKC @ NO ($7,100)

CP3 is my favorite point guard on the slate, hands down. He comes into tonight's game in excellent form and has seen his playing time increased to the 33-34 minute range lately. The matchup is ideal here as the Pelicans are a team that has been bleeding points to lead guards and ball-handlers this season. Earlier in the year, it was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schroder who were carrying the scoring load for the Thunder while Paul was more content to pass, but CP3 has now scored 22, 22, and 31 actual points over his last three games. He will be a popular play tonight, but it's going to be hard to get away from chalky players on only a two-game slate. I'll eat Chris Paul chalk and get different elsewhere.

J.J. Redick - SG/SF NO vs. OKC ($4,400)

Redick is one of the best pure shooters in the NBA and he's finally settling into his new bench role quite nicely. He's poured in 18, 23, and 20 actual points over his last three games on 50% shooting from the field. I love using second-team guys in DFS because they often get overlooked by those who are only looking for the green checkmark that denotes a player is starting. Redick is really cheap and eligible at SF tonight, making him a really valuable asset for DFS. J.J. carries a really high correlation with teammate Jrue Holiday at .43 and I love the idea of pairing them together. If Ingram misses, bump Redick up even further.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard - SF, LAC @ BOS ($9,100)

One thing you want to do on a small slate like this is always lock in the top raw points scorer. I have Kawhi projected to outscore everyone tonight and it's not particularly close. He came through in a big way for us on Tuesday in a tough loss against the Sixers and I expect him to put up another 50+ DK point outing tonight against Boston. Like I said on Tuesday, we usually see Kawhi at his best in close games against good competition and I expect him to ball out tonight on national TV in an attempt to bounce back from Tuesday's loss and get a big win for his club before the break.

Danilo Gallinari - SF/PF, OKC @ NO ($5,500)

My favorite team to target tonight is the Thunder, and Gallinari is just way too cheap for his role on this team and the matchup that they have tonight. He's been a consistent DFS asset all season and has only one game under 30 DK points over his last eight. He shoots 40% from three-point range and isn't shy about putting up shots. This season he's been great against New Orleans averaging 18 points, seven rebounds, and nearly three assists in three games against them. He's a great value on this slate and his position versatility makes him easy to fit into rosters.

Marcus Morris - SF/PF, LAC @ BOS ($5,000)

Morris is a bit of a wild card tonight. He's one of the cheapest starters from any of the four teams on the slate, but there are still some questions as to what type of usage he will see playing alongside Kawhi and Paul George. The good news is he played 35 minutes for the Clippers on Tuesday night which gives me some optimism that he can be a productive fantasy asset going forward in DFS. 5k just feels much too cheap for a guy who has averaged 30 DK points a game this season and the matchup against Boston is a good one for big men as they have been a weak rebounding team this season.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Steven Adams - C, OKC @ NO ($5,300)

Adams is one of my favorite guys to watch in the NBA. Nothing about his game is pretty, but he will scrap and fight his way to fantasy points every night. He's been splitting time with Nerlens Noel quite a bit this season in an effort to keep both players healthy, but his minutes have stabilized again in the 28-30 minute range lately which should be more than enough to make value at this price and in this matchup. In two games this season, Adams is averaging 15 points, 11 boards, and three blocks/steals. He makes for a great pairing with pick-and-roll partner Chris Paul and the two are positively correlated.
