Welcome to our Sleeper NBA DFS prop picks for Wednesday, February 7. The theme of this article might be rebounds and assists, but the current state of the league resembles an infirmary. Joel Embiid is done for an extended period of time. Tyrese Haliburton and plenty others are fighting through ailments to uphold the newly instated games-played threshold and then there’s the Grizzlies…a living, breathing Ship of Theseus paradox.

Unfortunately, Khris Middleton was the latest victim Tuesday night and is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks. Fred VanVleet is missing a few games with an adductor strain and Jalen Brunson also tweaked his ankle, but the severity shouldn’t force him to miss any games. Players are dropping like flies and in some cases, this can work for us. In those pesky other cases, the players filling or any returning players should still have low lines we can target.

NBA DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Wednesday, February 7

Evan Mobley OVER 11.5 Rebounds + Assists 

Minutes restrictions are an immediate red flag, but Evan Mobley played 27 minutes last game in a 26-point win over the Kings. Usually, a team won’t play someone that many minutes in a pointless game unless they are capable of handling it. In his four games since returning, Mobley’s hit nine or more rebounds in three and the minutes ramping up have been accompanied by increased peripheral stats. Mobley may not be the strongest scorer, but being surrounded by shooters and Jarrett Allen not pulling from his rebounding numbers is a major boost.

Additionally, playing the Wizards offers an ideal opportunity for Mobley to continue easing back into playing shape without offering too much resistance. He can easily surpass this with rebounds alone, but assuming Washington’s defense plays along and struggles as usual, the assists should help push him over the edge.

Domantas Sabonis OVER 22.5 Rebounds + Assists 

The Kings offense has been reliant on two people all season. De’Aaron Fox being borderline unstoppable from getting to his spots and Domantas Sabonis doing his best to space the floor from the inside-out. It’s produced mixed results, but it’s hard to deny Sabonis’ incredible stat lines over the last couple games. Much like Mobley, the scoring will be situational, but the rebound and assist potential coming from Sabonis each game is an ever-increasing ceiling.

The Pistons, Grizzlies, Wizards, and Hornets are teams that almost any player can have a massive game against and most top players are likely to have a high-scoring game against one of these teams already this season. Sabonis has yet to face the Pistons, but knowing what they’ve given up to other teams, a 30-rebound game is absolutely on the table.

 Jalen Johnson OVER 11.5 Rebounds + Assists 

The Hawks have found something in Jalen Johnson and they full well know it. Before we get too excited, just know that Johnson went into halftime of last game with 17 PRA (Points + Rebounds + Assists) and finished just 21 PRA. However, that kind of an underwhelming half can be contributed to lining up against the late-game versions of Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Paul George. Luckily, the Clippers are the only team maxed out with talent playing at a very high level right now.

Trae Young may have found his running mate within the offense, but until Johnson is shooting more consistently, the young wing is going to rely on pushing the issue at the rim. Kristaps Porzingis isn’t the strongest center, but he will deter shots. Since Porzingis is likely to impact scoring like only he can, expect Atlanta to need Johnson’s athleticism to pull Porzingis out of position to create easy buckets for the other Hawks.
