Should I drop Stefon Diggs for fantasy football Week 4? Is Stefon Diggs a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
If you drafted Stefon Diggs this summer, it probably felt like you were getting a steal. He wasn't going early anymore, and managers were hoping that the post-ACL surgery version of Diggs could outproduce his ADP. Through three weeks, that hasn't shaken out.
The veteran hasn't hit 60 yards in a game and has yet to find the end zone. His involvement in the Patriots' offense has been minimal, not what New England thought they were getting when they brought him in to be their WR1.
So, what are we to do with Diggs? Is he drop-worthy or benchable? Let's find out if you should hold until the offense figures itself out, and if you do pivot, who are some options you can turn to if you're getting frustrated?

Should I Drop Stefon Diggs in Fantasy Football?
Unfortunately, the numbers don't lie, and Diggs is nowhere near the player he once was. He's caught 13-of-15 targets for just 112 yards and no scores this season. Each week, his target counts have dropped, shifting from seven to five to three, and his average depth of target sits at a shallow 6.9 yards. For a player who used to live on those big chunk plays, this is concerning for managers.

Age and injury are also on the minds of managers. Diggs is 31 and coming off a torn ACL. It could take a while for Diggs to get back to full form, if he can even get there. He's averaging 8.6 yards per reception, the lowest of his career. The Patriots' wideouts aren't gaining the volume needed for fantasy football, with the WRs as a whole registering just 35 of the team's 77 receptions.
Fantasy-wise, Diggs has put up 11.7, 7.2, and 5.4 PPR points through three contests. Those are flexworthy numbers, at best, but not someone you can confidently start each week. You probably didn't draft him high, so cutting him won't be a disaster if you need the roster spot.
If you can afford to hold for now, he should be on your bench, and his leash should be short. Don't want to wait around on him too long and miss out on players who can actually help your team now. If things don't improve in Week 4, then you can drop him with ease.
Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?
It's in your best interest to sit Diggs this week, so you'll need a replacement. Some hot names are floating around on waivers. The hottest of that group would be Tre Tucker, who erupted for 40.9 PPR points in Week 3. In that contest, he gained 145 yards and an impressive three touchdowns.

Tucker has 17 targets over the last two matches, and although you shouldn't expect another monster game like Week 3, he's clearly becoming a focus in the offense. The Raiders' Week 4 contest with Chicago (allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to WRs this season) makes Tucker an ideal short-term replacement while Diggs rides the pine.
Another name worth highlighting is Elic Ayomanor, a rookie quickly building chemistry with QB Cam Ward in Tennessee. Ayomanor has scored in back-to-back weeks, tallying eight catches for 94 yards and two scores in that time. He's been outplaying Calvin Ridley in spurts and gaining steady targets (at least five in every contest).

The Titans' passing game isn't high-powered, but Ayomanor does enough to be a nice flex or WR3 option. Taking on Houston in Week 4, Ayomanor is a plug-and-play WR. The Texans have permitted the seventh-most receiving yards to the WR position this season and tied for the fourth-most targets allowed to wideouts. With Diggs on your bench, moving to Ayomanor is an excellent temporary fix.
Darnell Mooney is another wide receiver to pick up this week after he registered 11 targets in Week 3. Efficiency was an issue, as the wide receiver posted four catches for 44 yards in that game, but the volume is a positive. Atlanta just gave the boot to their wide receiver coach, Ike Hilliard, with passing game coordinator T.J. Yates taking over the role. Maybe that's what's needed to turn the passing game around.

Atlanta draws a favorable matchup this week, battling a Commanders squad that's given up the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts this season. Washington was shredded by Tucker in Week 3 (see above). Mooney isn't a must-start, but he supplies usable volume. That's something Diggs hasn't delivered on lately.
