Shohei Ohtani to Start on Wednesday at Coors Field
Shohei Ohtani will make his next start on the mound on Wednesday at Coors Field against the division-rival Colorado Rockies, according to manager Dave Roberts. The plan is for Ohtani to go five innings for the first time this season. It remains to be seen if Ohtani will be in the starting lineup as the designated hitter and leadoff man for Thursday's series finale. The Dodgers have eased the 31-year-old two-way superstar back into the starting rotation this year after he did not pitch at all in his first year with the Dodgers in 2024 while coming back from his second Tommy John procedure. Ohtani's last start against his former team, the Angels, last week was his worst in nine outings, as he allowed four earned runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Coors Field isn't ideal, but Ohtani should be started on Wednesday against the worst team in baseball.
