Oklahoma State Will Start New Left Tackle Against Oregon
Oklahoma State has a daunting matchup with No. 6 Oregon in Week 2 and will be without its starting left tackle as it hopes to upset the Ducks. Jacob Sexton was lost for the season after he was injured on the Cowboys' first drive of the game in Week 1 against Tulsa. Sexton will be replaced in part by Shaun Torgeson, who will earn the start on Saturday against Oregon, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Torgeson, who is expected to rotate at the position with North Texas transfer Desmond Magiya, transferred from Portland State, where he started 12 games in 2025. Oklahoma State struggled to run the football, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry, while its offensive line also gave up a couple of sacks during its season-opening 24-10 loss to Tulsa. The Oregon running game averaged 4.8 yards per carry while its defense recorded three sacks in a 34-27 win over Boise State a week ago.
