The Green Bay Packers' defense and special teams unit have their work cut out for them this week as the Packers have a Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions in Week 13. The Packers put together their best fantasy performance of the season in Week 12, with five sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery against the Minnesota Vikings. That kind of performance likely isn't in the cards against the Lions, who, even with Sam LaPorta (back) unlikely to return this season, boast some heavy hitters like Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and quarterback Jared Goff to put it all together on offense. Because of the firepower in this game in Detroit, the Packers are an option to leave out of your fantasy lineups in Week 13.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers kicker Brandon McManus matched his best fantasy output of the season in Week 12 and looks to keep that run going when the Packers head to Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. McManus was successful on all three of his field goal attempts in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings, making kicks of 32, 30, and 40 yards. Also booting home both extra point attempts, McManus was K10 on the week and could be on the upswing now from a quad injury that's affected him at times this season. With the Packers heading to Detroit for their Week 13 matchup, McManus is a low-end starter for fantasy purposes.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers tight end John FitzPatrick has seen his opportunity with the Packers grow as of late, but is still a player to leave out of fantasy lineups when the Packers head to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving. FitzPatrick has supplanted Luke Musgrave in terms of snap share and routes over the last two weeks for the Packers. Despite the increased snaps in the 60 percent range in each of the last two weeks for Green Bay, it's only turned into a combined two receptions and 16 yards on two targets. FitzPatrick's role is not as a receiver, so expecting fantasy production out of the Packers' tight end may not be realistic. Leave FitzPatrick off of your fantasy rosters when the Packers play the Lions on Thanksgiving in Week 13.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has had a lackluster last few weeks of fantasy production, but looks to get back on track when the Lions face the Packers in Week 13 on Thanksgiving. After averaging eight targets per game in Week 6 through Week 9, Doubs is averaging just five targets per game in his last three games, with the Packers opting to get back to running the ball much more. In the last three contests, Doubs has had a combined seven receptions, 81 yards, and zero touchdowns in that span. He's taken a backseat in the pecking order to Christian Watson, who has asserted himself as a player who can earn targets. Even with Watson's emergence in recent weeks, this is still a good spot for Doubs. He's a solid flex play for fantasy managers this week, but just know that the points floor is a bit low.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has been front and center for the Packers in their passing game as of late, and he looks to keep that up in the Packers' Week 13 game against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Last week against the Minnesota Vikings, Watson led the Packers in targets with seven and paced the passing game production with a five-catch, 49-yard stat line. Watson has also led the Packers in air yards over the last three games, showing the intent from head coach and playcaller Matt LaFleur and Packers quarterback Jordan Love to get the ball downfield. Detroit allows the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing receivers and is a man-based defense that was just shredded by Wan'Dale Robinson's 9-157-1 line this past Sunday for the Giants. For fantasy purposes, Watson should be considered a high-upside WR3 for Week 13.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson had an awesome game in Week 12, but will cede the starting running back duties back to Josh Jacobs when the Packers match up with the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Wilson took 28 carries and turned that into 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while catching both of his targets for 18 yards. It was a great performance, but with Jacobs off the injury report after three limited practice sessions, Wilson's role will be greatly diminished from last week. While Wilson could see some more opportunities working in tandem with Jacobs, it's not likely to be anything substantial. When the Packers face the Lions in Week 13's Thanksgiving showdown, Wilson is more of an RB4 option than should be left on benches in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.--Kevin Tompkins

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been a much better real-life quarterback than a fantasy option this season, but he will look to right the ship against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving in Week 13. Love has had just 24 and 21 pass attempts in the last two weeks and has averaged just 163 passing yards and less than a touchdown per game in his last three games. That's not going to get it done from a fantasy perspective. With Love rarely approaching any sort of fantasy points ceiling and the Packers very content to run the ball, it crushes any upside for the passing game. Even with multiple members of the Lions' secondary banged up on a defense that's allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, Love is more of a QB2 for two-quarterback fantasy leagues rather than a starter in single-quarterback leagues for Week 13.--Kevin Tompkins

The Green Bay Packers are listing rookie first-round wide receiver Matthew Golden (wrist) as questionable for Thursday's game against the division-rival Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Golden missed last week's win over the Minnesota Vikings with shoulder and wrist injuries. The 22-year-old is past his shoulder injury, but he's still up in the air to play in Week 13 after being limited in practice this week. The Packers will not welcome Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) back from Injured Reserve this week, but even if Golden is cleared to play against the Lions, he'll be hard to trust in a WR4/flex spot by fantasy managers. Golden has yet to display the form he showed in training camp and the preseason, and he has only 24 catches for 286 yards and no touchdowns in his first nine games in a crowded Packers' receiving corps.--Keith Hernandez

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (knee) has no injury designation for Thursday's divisional clash against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving and is good to go, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Jacobs was held out of the Week 12 win over the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a minor knee contusion in the Week 11 win over the New York Giants. The 27-year-old star RB is back after a one-game absence and will be looking to start a new touchdown streak. He has 11 rushing touchdowns in 10 games played this year and entered Week 11 with touchdowns in six straight games before injuring his knee. In the Week 1 win over Detroit, Jacobs had 19 carries for 66 yards and one touchdown. Even though backup Emanuel Wilson had over 100 rushing yards and two scores last week, all signs point to Jacobs returning to his workhorse role in Detroit.--Keith Hernandez

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) was not activated from injured reserve on Wednesday and has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the Detroit Lions, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Head coach Matt LaFleur refused to rule out Reed for the Thanksgiving game earlier in the week, saying "you'll find out Thursday," but the third-year wideout's return will wait at least another week. The 25-year-old practiced for the first time last Friday since suffering a broken collarbone during Green Bay's Week 2 win over the Washington Commanders. He was also limited on Monday and Tuesday this week, and should have a good chance of returning in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.--Kyle McCarthy

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (knee) is "good to go" and will be available to return from his injury for the pivotal Thanksgiving matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers (7-3-1) sit half a game ahead of the Lions (7-4), and the Packers won comfortably over the Lions in Week 1 and have a chance to cement themselves at the top of the NFC North with a win on Thursday. The Chicago Bears (8-3) currently sit atop the NFC North; however, the Packers still face them twice in Weeks 14 and 16, so they control their own fate in the NFC. Jacobs' return is a significant step in the right direction for them to make this end-of-season run. His injury in Week 11 looked bad at first glance, so this news of him already being back is great news for the Packers fans and Jacobs' fantasy owners. Emanuel Wilson filled in for Jacobs last week and played great, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns, so Jacobs' upside may be capped because Wilson has earned more playing time. Still, Jacobs is also a set-it-and-forget-it type of player in fantasy football, regardless of the tough matchup. On the season, Jacobs has 11 touchdowns, 648 rushing yards, and 237 receiving yards.--Nicho Roessler

The Green Bay Packers are not ruling out wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) from coming off Injured Reserve to play on Thursday in the Thanksgiving Day game against the division-rival Detroit Lions at Ford Field, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "You never know... You'll find out Thursday," head coach Matt LaFleur said when asked if Reed could play on Thursday, given the lack of practice time. Reed practiced for the first time last Friday since breaking his collarbone in Week 2. He was limited on Friday and on Monday and Tuesday of this week, putting his status up in the air for Week 13. In addition to a broken collarbone, the third-year pass-catcher is recovering from surgery to fix a fractured foot. At the very least, fantasy managers should stash Reed, who has scored 18 total touchdowns in 35 career games. Green Bay will likely wait to activate him for a Week 14 contest against the Bears. If he is active on Thursday, his reps will most likely be limited, making him a fade candidate in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf) continues to be limited at practice for the second straight day this week on Tuesday due to an ongoing calf issue, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN. Wicks has been on the team's injury report for the last three weeks with a calf injury, but he has managed to play through it. The 24-year-old should be out there again this Thursday on Thanksgiving Day against the division-rival Detroit Lions, but he's purely a deep-league dart throw, at best. That will be especially true if both Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) and rookie Matthew Golden (wrist) return from their injuries this week. Wicks scored nine times in his first two years in the NFL with Green Bay, but he's still searching for his first touchdown through 12 weeks of the 2025 season. He has 20 catches for 213 yards on 34 targets in nine games.--Keith Hernandez

Green Bay Packers rookie first-round wide receiver Matthew Golden (wrist) was limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Tuesday with a wrist injury, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN. Golden missed Sunday's decisive win over the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field with shoulder and wrist injuries. The 22-year-old Texas product is tracking towards returning on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday against the division-rival Detroit Lions, though, now that he's clear of his shoulder injury. Golden probably needs to practice in full on Wednesday to avoid taking another questionable tag into game day. Fantasy managers who bought into the preseason hype surrounding Golden have been disappointed so far in 2025, as he's caught just 24 passes for 286 yards on 32 targets. He's still searching for the first touchdown of his career, and his chances of contributing down the stretch aren't going to get any better now that Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) is nearing a return.--Keith Hernandez

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder) was listed as limited again in practice on Tuesday, per ESPN's Eric Woodyard. Reed returned to practice last Friday for the first time since breaking his collarbone in Week 2. The 25-year-old is also recovering from surgery for a Jones fracture in his foot. Reed will probably need to upgrade to a full practice on Wednesday for the Packers to even consider officially activating him from Injured Reserve to play on Thanksgiving on Thursday against the division-rival Detroit Lions. He's a stash candidate in most fantasy leagues, but even if Reed were to play on Turkey Day, he wouldn't be a recommended starting lineup option in his first game back after a long layoff. The most likely scenario is that Green Bay holds Reed out until their Week 14 divisional matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Dec. 7. "You'll find out Thursday," head coach Matt LaFleur said when asked if Reed could play given his lack of practice time.--Keith Hernandez
