NBA DFS Prop Picks for PrizePicks: Friday, May 13th

The Miami Heat won their series against the 76ers last night and the Milwaukee Bucks have their first chance to try and close out this relentless Celtics team. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford create a formidable trio and their run thus far has been nothing short of immaculate. Missing Robert Williams in the playoffs might be the missing piece they need and win or lose so, whenever he returns, Boston is in a great position. Giannis Antetokounmpo is just a true force to be reckoned with. You don’t even have to ignore his abysmal shooting stats. Actually, bring them to the forefront of every conversation you have about Antetokounmpo, you still can’t stop him or make him out to be a detrimental player. Any developments in his ability to effectively extend his range and the league is his, but that’s also been the narrative surrounding him for a few years so we still have time before he’s entering any All-Time debates. For the Warriors and their hands-off coaching style, or what seems like a laissez-faire approach to eliminating the Grizzlies, the betting-variance they already carried into each game has been compounded by whatever the heck Mike Brown is doing out there as acting head coach. Does he realize this isn’t the NFL and he has more than three timeouts?

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest to win NBA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, March 1.

Klay Thompson OVER 20.5 Points – If anything’s gone well for the Warriors over the last two games, it’s Klay Thompson. Usually, when he plays well the Warriors tend to build around that, but there’s really no saving a team that’s been turning the ball over with as much frequency as this current Golden State squad. They play fast, downhill, and in transition, so turnovers happen. At this rate, however, it’s slightly worrisome. It’s been two games with shaky offense and their defense isn’t able to stop Memphis from getting almost too many shots up. It’s hard to shoot yourself out a game when you’ve had as many attempts as the Grizzlies and Golden State might remain on a skid until their backs are against the wall in Game 7. Thompson has already seemingly reached that point and there’s no reason for his attempts or usage to regress.

Jrue Holiday OVER 33.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts – Giannis Antetokounmpo might be the head and shoulders of the Bucks, but Jrue Holiday has been pivotal for more than just a couple reasons. Two huge defensive stops, literally, single-handedly winning the Bucks Game 5. He’s hit or scraped at 30 Pts+Rebs+Asts in the two games this series he’s been unable to surpass 33.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts, so the floor here is extremely high. Points are always the safer bet, but when you have someone like Jrue Holiday, who has a statistical range from 20-point triple-doubles to quintuple-nickels (5’s Points-Rebounds-Assists-Steals-Blocks) there really is no ceiling or floor. He’s been carrying the backcourt production this series and the matchup with Marcus Smart is not looking good for the DPOY.

Jayson Tatum OVER 28.5 Points – The Celtics have Jaylen Brown and Al Horford to fall back on, but first they need to exhaust every element and ounce out of Jayson Tatum. The offense starts with him and this season he’s shown this unstoppable characteristic that starts with an outside-in approach. When his jumpshot is falling, which he proved is this series, there’s no defense or limit he can’t reach. Even with Brown playing well and Horford coming off career-high games, Tatum is somehow sneakily scoring his 30 points each night and they are absolutely necessary. Boston can’t afford for Tatum not to show up and with his current role, they aren’t giving him the chance to lose the momentum he’s created for himself and this team.
