NBA DFS Prop Picks for 11/2/22 - Monkey Knife Fight

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Jake King-Finnen provides his NBA DFS prop picks for Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 on Monkey Knife Fight. Make your DFS picks with his fantasy basketball advice.

For anyone looking to bet on the 76ers and Wizards tonight, remember that the game starts an hour earlier than normal with the rest of the slate continuing at 6:30 and proceeding as any other night. While projections pre-determine that Philadelphia will be hosting the lowest scoring game of the night, that puts both Knicks-Hawks and Pelicans-Lakers at the forefront of our focus. None of those four teams are putting together defensive schemes that should jeopardize the point totals, especially if Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are able to play in the late game versus the Lakers.

With how well Utah has been playing, Luka Doncic is sure to test their adversity as he looks to add onto his historic start to the season. Unless the Jazz have a 6’10 rabbit with a 7’2 wingpsan to pull out of their hat, Doncic’ is going to put points up and there’s good reason to look into putting money on him to triple-double (+440) or score 40+ points (+270).

MonkeyKnifeFight.com is always ahead of the curve with their canceling of contests amid postponements, so don't worry about wasting money on a player or game that might not play. As always, you can find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter with any questions, especially since lines and players are subject to change throughout the day.

ATL @ NYK

Trae Young (ATL) MORE 28.5 Points – R.J. Barret (NYK) MORE 20.5 Points

Trae Young is coming off a season-low 14 points on a season-low 13 attempts in a blowout loss against the Raptors. This is one game after a 42-point performance against the Bucks, also resulting in a loss. Clearly, whether or not Young has a big game, the rest of the Hawks need to deliver. This keeps the door open for Young almost permanently, making this matchup in Madison Square Garden even more enticing for a player who has already established a reputation there.

Of course, they have R.J. Barret here and not Julius Randle. Barret is almost unpredictable in every sense. On his highest scoring nights this season, Barret’s point totals are rivaling his total shot attempts. He will get shot attempts like he gets every game, but depending on his ability that night, his production is going to waver significantly. He’s always capable of big nights, but he’s just not a strong shooter. There’s no reason for him to be scoring less than 21 points when he’s taking as many shots as he is, but he does so don’t be surprised if Barret ruins this bet. There’s a reason why he’s here in the first place and it’s not because he covers.

LAC @ HOU

Paul George (LAC) MORE 24.5 Points – Jalen Green (HOU) MORE 20.5 Points

This is a rematch from Halloween night where Paul George scored 35-points and just missed out on a triple-double. If his line stays below 25-points there’s no reason to let it go to waste. The Rockets have no defensive specialist to keep up and the Clippers aren’t going to move away from what’s working, especially if George is putting up these types of numbers.

Jalen Green scored 13-points on 17 attempts Monday night, a typical night for a young guard with a knack for high-scoring nights. He’s going to have some nights where the shot isn’t falling and he’s reduced to playing a role he’s not comfortable in. As much as we don’t want Green to struggle, it helps players learn where they can thrive elsewhere. For Green, it’s better he just keeps shooting since over the past four games he’s averaging more attempts than shots. If you want to ride the trend, go under. If you buy into him breaking the slump, the over shouldn’t be too hard to reach when he’s nearly taking that many shots.

DET @ MIL

Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) MORE 32.5 Points – Cade Cunningham (DET) MORE 22.5 Points

Another Halloween rematch between the Bucks and Pistons that surprised most fans that aren’t familiar with this new Pistons team. Detroit might not be winning a ton of games but they are forcing teams to close games behind the scoring of Bojan Bogdanovic, the playmaking of Cade Cunningham, and bursts of energy from their bench and young players. Cunningham spends the first 75% of the game trying to set up his teammates before taking the game into his own hands in the fourth quarter, usually playing off the spacing and shooting of Bogdanovic. Cunningham has scored at least 23-points in his last four games and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

As for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the second-leading scorer in the league, only two teams have held Antetokounmpo to 30-points or less. The Pistons last game, and the Knicks last week. However, the Bucks are winning games and outside of the season debut against the 76ers, the last game versus Detroit was their closest call. Antetokounmpo will score against them again and he might be required to do more if he can’t get the same support from his teammates this time around.

UTA @ DAL

Luka Doncic (DAL) MORE 33.5 Points – Lauri Markkanen (UTA) MORE 18.5 Points

This is hilarious only because Luka Doncic is still more than likely going to surpass this projected. Looking at this bet generally, scoring 30-points is always a big deal, and more importantly, it’s not easy. The fact that scoring 30-points on any given night has been overblown to the point that it’s almost expected when in reality, it’s a feat every time it happens. Doncic is playing like the best player in the league right now and if you need reassurance, go check out the Jazz roster. I’ll wait.

Back? Did you notice anything else? Maybe that Lauri Markkanen is playing like a man possessed and if his projected is really 19-points against Dallas, this is the best wager of the night. Both players are playing well and have enticing matchups, so there’s not much else you can do but watch two players on track to hit the overs. It will take a serious effort from Doncic, but as well as he’s been playing, taking the under here is asking for trouble.
