DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football Friday Slate (10/17/25)

Carson Beck - College Football Rankings, CFB DFS Picks, NFL Draft

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the Friday (10/17/25) slate in Week 8. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

What a Friday night we have in store for us! I thought it would be hard to top last week, but we have two ranked teams taking the field tonight and one crazy trophy. The $5 Bits of Broken Chair is the trophy that university fossils tried to kill. The fans kept it alive.

We start in Miami with Louisville in town to get Hurricaned. Nebraska is in Minneapolis to fight over the broken chair. San Jose State is in Logan to face Utah State. We finish this in Cal with North Carolina heading out west for a 10:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff. Ol' Bill has to LOVE that.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the DraftKings slate on 10/17/25, starting at 7 pm Eastern. I’ll give multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Walker Eget, San Jose State ($8K)

Considering that both players were able to return last week, I'll proceed as if they are playing. It makes the slate a lot easier if they do. Eget has 10 touchdowns and no interceptions over the last three games and has 1,102 yards in that span. Eget is cooking right now!

Dylan Raiola, Nebraska ($6.7K)

I know that Minnesota's defense is solid, but this is too cheap for Raiola. Raiola has at least 17 DraftKings points in every game except the Michigan State struggle fest. The touchdowns are there for him. As long as the line doesn't lose him a ton of points on sacks, he'll fly by the projections at this price.

Also consider these QBs:

  • Carson Beck, Miami (FL) ($8.4K)
  • Bryson Barnes, Utah State ($7.8K)
  • Max Johnson, North Carolina ($6K). If he starts. I trust no part of a Bill Belichick depth chart. Watch warmups.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Emmett Johnson, Nebraska ($7.6K)

Forget NFL fantasy monster, he's a college fantasy monster right now! Minnesota's run defense has been very good, but on no planet is it better than Michigan's. Johnson still put up 14.7 DK points against Michigan. He has at least 22 in every other game.

It appears that his floor will be around 18 DK points. The price is a little steep, but no one else is going to get the volume that Johnson does, except for Walker Eget.

Miles Davis, Utah State ($5.6K)

No, it's not the blues legend, but this Miles Davis is becoming a legend of Utah State football. He has topped 100 rushing yards in two of the last three games. He didn't get there against Vandy, but we'll forgive him since we would never play him against Vanderbilt anyway.

Davis still picked up double-digit DK points on the Commodores thanks to his work in the passing game. Bryson Barnes is more comfortable with short passes. Davis helps Utah State take advantage of that.

Also consider these RBs

  • Kendrick Raphael, California ($6.6K)
  • Steve Chavez-Soto, San Jose State ($5.7K)
  • Darius Taylor, Minnesota ($5.4K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Danny Scudero, San Jose State ($8K)

Scudero racked up 55 DK points against Wyoming, and he even left the game for a brief spell! 10 catches for 180 yards and four touchdowns will break a slate. Scudero is a threat to do that any time he takes the field. Utah State has allowed 734 passing yards in the last two games. This is a dream matchup!

Kyri Shoels, San Jose State ($5.8K)

If, for some reason, Scudero misses this game, Shoels is a lock. He has been productive alongside Scudero all season, but he went for 33.7 DK points in the game that Scudero missed.

Malachi Toney, Miami (FL) ($4.9K)

The Hurricanes have waited patiently for a receiver to become the alpha. That appears to be Toney. He erupted against Florida State before the bye with seven receptions for 107 yards and two scores. Louisville's run defense has been a strength.

Carson Beck has proven that he can win if teams force him to the air. If that happens, Toney will again be in line for a good game.

Nyziah Hunter, Nebraska ($3.9K)

Nebraska also had to wait for one of the new gaggle of receivers to click with the quarterback. The last two games have been Hunter. The Cal transfer has nine catches for 218 yards and three touchdowns in the last three games alone. He seems to be firmly ahead of Jacory Barney Jr. right now.

Also consider these WRs:

  • Chase Bell, Louisville ($6.9K)
  • Braden Pegan, Utah State ($5.9K)
  • Dane Key, Nebraska ($4.3K)
  • Broc Lane, Utah State ($3.8K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

San Jose State vs. Utah State

This has all the makings of a game stack. Both defenses have struggled this year. Of course, the health of San Jose State's major players will play a key role in this. If Eget is out, I think we can still play Scudero. If Scudero is out, we use Shoels and Leland Smith. If both Eget and Scudero are out, this gets messy.

Tama Amisone took over for Eget against Wyoming when he was forced to leave the game. He looked good enough to use with Scudero, but I don't think I would use anything outside of those two and Steve Chavez-Soto.

If both Eget and Scudero are in, I like both with Chavez-Soto. Shoels and Smith are both worth using against the Utah State pass defense. A five-man San Jose State stack is easy enough, but if you're running a game stack, I think you stay with three Spartans.

The Utah State run-back in a game stack would be Barnes, Miles Davis, Pegan, and Broc Lane. If you want to run a Utah State five-man stack, you can get creative. There isn't a target hog like Scudero on this team.

Barnes, Davis, and Pegan are necessary in any Utah State lineup. For the last two pieces, Lane and Brady Boyd can be used. Or you can try to take advantage of the San Jose State run defense and run either Lane or Boyd with Javen Jacobs. Jacobs still gets plenty of work, but he's not active in the passing game.

California vs. North Carolina

The Tar Heels are just plain bad. There's no way to sugarcoat this. I'll have plenty of Kendrick Raphael as part of a stack or alone. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele must be used in a stack. Jacob De Jesus, Mason Mini, and Trond Grizzell all get enough looks if you want to run a full five-man. If you want to stop at three, use De Jesus.

Also consider these other stacks:

  • Miami (FL)
  • North Carolina (GPP only)
