Andersen looks at the top fantasy baseball prospects risers, sleepers for Week 10 of 2025. These MLB prospects may become strong waiver wire stashes or pickups.
Welcome back, RotoBallers! We're heading into Week 10 of the baseball season, and the minor league schedule is in full swing. During last week's action, there were plenty of big plays and impressive prospect performances throughout Minor League Baseball.
Monitoring the top fantasy baseball prospects who have turned heads thus far is imperative. The players listed here are coming off dominant weeks and have significant long-term upside. Don't be surprised when these exact names are painting corners, mashing homers, and swiping bags at the big league level soon.
Savvy fantasy managers looking for an edge in their leagues should watch these players over the long haul, as they may soon be excellent additions.

Luis Mieses, OF, Texas Rangers
Level: Double-A
2025 stats: 41 G, .284/.353/.525, 7 HR, 28 RBI, 25 R, 0 SB, 9.6% BB%, 17.3% K%, .302 BABIP, .391 wOBA, 138 wRC+
Mieses is on the older side for a prospect. As a 25-year-old international signee, we'd like to see Mieses be at the Triple-A or major league level by now. Nevertheless, he's making an impression at Double-A with the Rangers, who signed him during free agency last November. (He had previously been in the White Sox system.)
Mieses developed additional power coming out of the COVID-19 shutdown, and he has maintained decent contact skills. He could benefit from adding even more power to his game, especially considering that he routinely racks up strikeouts while drawing walks at a below-average rate. Defensively, the Rangers are holding out hope that he can be a corner outfielder, but in reality, he looks more like a designated hitter.
Last week, Mieses tore the cover off the baseball. He went 8-for-22 with three home runs and four doubles. He also drove in six runs, registered four walks, and struck out four times.

Tyler Schlaffer, SP, Chicago Cubs
Level: High-A
2025 stats: 8 G, 8 GS, 0-1, 33.1 IP, 6.75 ERA, 4.10 xFIP, 8.91 K/9, 4.59 BB/9, 1.62 HR/9, 40.7% GB%, .276 BABIP
The Cubs spent a ninth-round pick to draft Schlaffer out of high school in 2019. His development was slightly delayed due to the pandemic in 2020 and Tommy John surgery in 2023. He's only at High-A as a 24-year-old, but he continues to make his presence felt within the Cubs farm system.
He throws a mid-90s fastball, and he uses his above-average command to make up for a lack of high-end velocity. He gets good action on both his curveball and changeup, which project as average secondary pitches. He won't necessarily overpower batters with any of his offerings, but his feel for the pitches and the strike zone gives him an advantage in at-bats.
Schlaffer took the mound last Wednesday and went eight full innings, allowing just one unearned run along the way. His final line included one hit, one walk, and eight strikeouts.

Brooks Brannon, C, Boston Red Sox
Level: High-A
2025 stats: 40 G, .273/.317/.442, 5 HR, 25 RBI, 25 R, 3 SB, 5.5% BB%, 28.0% K%, .359 BABIP, .343 wOBA, 109 wRC+
Brannon was a ninth-round pick out of high school in 2022. He possesses a prototypical catcher's build at 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds. He gets the bat through the zone quickly, allowing him to make quality contact against velocity. This has resulted in high exit velocities and plenty of power. However, he does have plenty of swing-and-miss in his game, and subpar swing decisions have prevented him from drawing many walks.
Defensively, Brannon has a very strong arm behind the dish, but his receiving and blocking skills are average at best. Despite his ability to throw out base-stealers, his relatively unnatural feel behind home plate will likely result in him playing first base or designated hitter long-term.
Brannon's bat has carried his profile thus far, including last week, when he went 11-for-21 with two home runs, eight RBI, zero walks, and three strikeouts. The 21-year-old owns a solid .759 OPS this season and could earn a promotion to Double-A Portland soon.

Last week, he drove in eight runs and posted a .524 batting average for Greenville.

Cedric De Grandpre, SP, Atlanta Braves
Level: High-A
2025 stats: 3 G, 3 GS, 1-0, 13.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 1.95 FIP, 15.33 K/9, 2.70 BB/9, 0.00 HR/9, 61.9% GB%, .273 BABIP
De Grandpre is a Quebec native, but he was drafted out of Florida's Chipola College in the 13th round of the 2022 draft. He missed all of 2024 with a wrist injury but has not yet allowed a run upon his return to the mound in 2025.
The 23-year-old right-hander is quick to the plate, allowing him to help control the run game. He throws a mid-90s fastball that he uses to pound the upper portion of the zone, generating plenty of whiffs. He rounds out his repertoire with a cutter and sweeper, the latter of which has late action that deceives batters.
De Grandpre finally looked like the old version of himself last Sunday, suggesting that he's fully recovered from last year's injury. Making his third and longest start of the year, he went five innings, allowing zero runs and zero hits. He struggled a little with control, amassing two walks and one hit batter. However, he made up for it with nine strikeouts.
Yesterday, Cedric De Grandpre ('22 @WVBlackbears) made his season debut in High-A for @GoEmperors and put together six hitless innings while racking up ten strikeouts.

Alfredo Duno, C, Cincinnati Reds
Level: Single-A
2025 stats: 44 G, .268/.406/.490, 6 HR, 28 RBI, 29 R, 4 SB, 16.7% BB%, 20.8% K%, .321 BABIP, .421 wOBA, 151 wRC+
Injuries have hampered the early portion of Duno's professional career, limiting him to 131 games since he signed as an international free agent out of Venezuela in 2023. Nevertheless, when he's on the field, he makes a significant impact.
At the plate, Duno has above-average bat speed with truly explosive power. His ability to generate hard contact is off the charts, and so far, he hasn't allowed it to interfere with his walk rate. With that being said, he could afford to cut down on strikeouts. Defensively, Duno is a raw catching prospect. He has a phenomenal arm, but his blocking and receiving skills will require refinement for him to stick behind the dish long-term.
Last week, Duno went 9-for-20 with two home runs, two doubles, and six RBI. He also worked a whopping eight walks while striking out four times. At just 19 years old, Duno's profile at the plate is quite advanced, and it seems inevitable that he'll be promoted to High-A soon.
