Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares (lower body) was back at practice on Friday. The veteran star has missed six games with a lower-body injury, but it looks like he might be ready to rejoin the action soon. Tavares worked in a regular jersey on Friday, which suggests that his comeback could be very close. The Maple Leafs will resume their season on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers. Tavares is enjoying a strong season with the team, boasting 20 goals and 42 points through 44 appearances. Pontus Holmberg has served as the second-line center during Tavares' absence and is poised to drop into a bottom-six role once he's back.--Taavi Pailk
