Washington draws a match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. Ertz might have a tougher time in this game as the Bengals currently rank 7th in defensive DVOA against opposing tight ends per FTN Fantasy.
If you’re in a deeper league and need a tight end, Ertz is about as good as you’ll find. Washington will likely be playing from behind this week and as a result, will be forced to throw the ball quite often. This will mean more possible fantasy points for Ertz.
He is not nearly the same player he was, but he’s got the TE1 job locked down. Washington should find themselves in many pass-heavy game scripts, and Ertz can be a fine streamer if you find yourself in a pinch at tight end.
