In 2022, the New York Giants overachieved, making the postseason with a 9-7-1 record, prompting them to award their quarterback, Daniel Jones, a four-year, $160 million contract. However, they failed to replicate that success in the subsequent season, mainly due to the revolving door at quarterback after Jones tore his ACL, contributing to their 6-11 record.
They currently possess over $20 million in cap space this offseason, but both Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney are unrestricted free agents and are expected to be hot commodities on the market. If the team intends to retain both top talents, they would heavily rely on hitting on immediate contributors in the draft to fill their roster.
What picks do the Giants hold in the 2024 NFL Draft? Who could they select in round one? Let's find out.

What Draft Picks Do The New York Giants Own?
The Giants currently possess seven draft picks before the NFL distributes 32 compensatory picks during the offseason. New York's first-round pick is the sixth overall, coming after the Chargers and Cardinals and preceding the Titans.
Aside from round one, the Giants have their own second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-round picks in the 2024 draft. Additionally, they hold the Seahawks' second-round pick, acquired in the trade involving Leonard Williams during the previous deadline. However, their seventh-round pick belongs to Arizona as part of the Isaiah Simmons trade.
Who Could The New York Giants Draft In The First Round?
The most logical position for the Giants to target at sixth overall is wide receiver, given that Darius Slayton, Jaylin Hyatt, and Wan'Dale Robinson may not be enough, and the potential losses of Parris Campbell and Isaiah Hodgins to free agency. While the quarterback position was problematic last year and raises questions about Daniel Jones' long-term viability, the significant dead cap from moving on could hinder any immediate changes. Brian Daboll, with his job on the line, likely cannot afford to not play a sixth-overall pick.
Another prospect to consider is offensive tackle Joe Alt, but recent top-10 investments in Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal make this scenario less probable unless Neal transitions to guard. The 2024 draft class is rich in receiver talent, providing the Giants an opportunity to secure a significant impact player, even if not someone of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s caliber.
Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze emerge as the most likely options for the Giants to enhance their passing attack. With the potential departure of Saquon Barkley in 2024, a substantial improvement in the passing game is crucial to avoid another disappointing season.
