Should I start Romeo Doubs, Chimere Dike, Christian Watson for Week 9? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
The Green Bay Packers have an upstart duo of wide receivers in Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson (knee), and the Tennessee Titans have an emerging speedster rookie WR Chimere Dike. All three of these players fit in to the WR3 conversation -- players you'd consider using as flex options.
If your fantasy football squads are struggling with injuries or bye weeks, you might even be considering slotting some of these guys into your WR2 slot. It would be unfortunate if you needed one as your WR1, but situations like that do happen sometimes.
These types of players tend to be very difficult to project in fantasy -- they have very inconsistent volume and production, despite their upside. So should you start Doubs, Dike, and Watson in Week 9?

Should I Start Romeo Doubs for Fantasy Football?
Doubs had a nice stretch of games in which it looked like he was on his way to taking over the Packers' WR1 job. Anyone who's managed Green Bay receivers in fantasy football leagues might have known that this was a red herring, though -- Doubs ended up with single-digit PPR fantasy points in Week 9 with just three catches for 44 yards and a two-point conversion.

His three-touchdown game against the Dallas Cowboys gave him a fantasy performance that he hasn't come close to repeating this season. And though he had eight, nine, and eight targets in Week 4, Week 6, and Week 7, he had just six last week.
That's likely due to the return of the aforementioned Watson. The Packers love to rotate their receivers in and out of the lineups, and periodically attack different defensive looks using the varying strengths of their pass-catchers. This leads to a very spread out passing offense.
Doubs is only an option I would consider in very deep leagues, and you're praying he gets a TD.
Should I Start Chimere Dike for Fantasy Football?
Dike's last two games with the Titans would suggest he's in the middle of a breakout campaign. I'd argue that we know for sure he's breaking out as a returner, but return yards don't count in most fantasy football leagues. Still, in the last two games combined, Dike has turned 12 targets into 11 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown.

I would pump the brakes a bit here. Dike's extra target volume has come in two games without the team's WR1, Calvin Ridley (hamstring), who continues to deal with a hamstring issue. And fellow Titans WR Elic Ayomanor could have had a long touchdown had he not pulled up prematurely on one of his routes.

He had the separation to make the catch, but he just didn't sprint through the whole play for whatever reason. Were it not for this mental error, we would probably be analyzing whether to start Ayomanor or Dike, and debating which one was the true Titans WR1 in Ridley's absence.
The matchup in Week 9 is nice, though -- the Los Angeles Chargers have a poor defense this year, so I'd start Dike in the flex spot in deep leagues.
Should I Start Christian Watson for Fantasy Football?
Watson, like Doubs, only caught three passes in Week 8. This is despite the Packers getting into a shootout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who happen to have one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL. Watson was a roller coaster of a ride last season, too.
Imagine thinking Matthew Golden would be the Packers WR1 when it's really Tucker Kraft
Seriously though, having a Packers WR is such a nightmare for fantasy. It feels like Matt LaFleur is mocking fantasy managers. Completions to 10 different receivers, 5 with exactly 3 rec pic.twitter.com/yxbkYvWSIk

Green Bay loves nothing more than to spread the ball around. In a game where they scored 35 points, you'd want your receiver to get more than just three catches. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur made sure that didn't happen, though.
Watson, like the other Packers receivers, shouldn't be considered for starting lineups outside of very deep leagues. The upside is there, but it's more relevant for best ball, because it's incredibly difficult to predict who will do well on a week-to-week basis.
