UCF quarterback Alonza Barnett III was brought in from James Madison to help turn the program around in the second tenure of the Scott Frost era in Orlando. Barnett is fresh off leading James Madison to a College Football Playoff appearance and has a 21-6 overall record as a starter. The fifth-year senior tallied over 5,000 passing yards, 1,000 rushing yards, and 71 total touchdowns in two seasons as JMU's starter. UCF is expected to be among the worst teams in the Big 12, but heroic quarterback play can flip the script in a hurry.
