Ozzie Albies' Wrist May Be Back to Full Strength
Ozzie Albies (wrist) struggled through the worst first half of his career this season. It may have stemmed from the fractured left wrist he suffered in July 2024, and it seems Albies has finally healed from that injury, David O'Brien of The Athletic writes. "I think something was happening (due to the wrist)," hitting coach Tim Hyers said in regards to Albies' dismal first half. The switch-hitting 28-year-old went into the mid-July All-Star break with an ugly .220/.290/.316 line in 95 games. Thanks to a resurgent couple of weeks, he's now batting an improved .232/.301/.348. Albies has swatted four of his 13 homers since Aug. 14, a 14-game span in which he has gone 18-for-59 (.305) with 16 RBI and 11 runs scored. The Braves will have to decide in the offseason whether to pick up Albies' $7 million option for 2026 or buy him out for $4 million. It should be an easy call if the three-time All-Star continues to produce over the final month of the season.
