Every NFL Team's Biggest Offseason Need - All 32 Franchises

Bryce Young - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

What are every NFL team's biggest needs during the 2025 offseason. What positions does each NFL team need to improve before the 2025 season.

Will Levis - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Every NFL Team's Biggest Offseason Need - All 32 Franchises

With free agency and the NFL Draft just around the corner, it is the perfect time to pinpoint what positions all 32 NFL franchises need to address during the offseason.

Arizona Cardinals - NFL, Logo, Stock

Arizona Cardinals

Biggest Need: Defensive Line

While the Arizona Cardinals could use a proven No. 2 wide receiver, their tight end Trey McBride has been able to grow into this role. As a result, their most significant need entering the 2025 season is an edge rusher. Last season, the Cardinals placed in the middle of the pack in terms of sacks. They were above average in passing yards allowed and a true difference maker on the edge could bring this defense to the next level.

Atlanta Falcons - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Atlanta Falcons

Biggest Need: Defensive Line

The Atlanta Falcons tallied the second-fewest sacks (31) during the 2024 season. They had one of the best offensive units in the sport last season (sixth-most yards per game) but their defense held them back. Atlanta acquired Matthew Judon prior to the 2024 season to help boost their defensive line but he was unable to provide a significant impact as he tallied only 5.5 sacks.

Baltimore Ravens - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Baltimore Ravens:

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

Even though the Ravens boasted one of the league’s top offensive units, they are entering the offseason without several key pieces of their offensive line. Their starting left tackle and guard are currently unrestricted free agents and could opt to test the open market. If the Ravens want to take the next step to compete in the postseason, they must rebuild their offensive line as it served as the foundation of their elite rushing attack.

Buffalo Bills - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Buffalo Bills

Biggest Need: Defensive Line

The Buffalo Bills tallied the 13th-fewest sacks in the NFL and need a true difference maker on the defensive line to compete in the postseason. 35-year-old Von Miller tallied six sacks last season, but the team could save over $15 million in cap space if they choose to part ways. Greg Rousseau enjoyed a breakout season and pairing him with an elite pass rusher could make them the favorites in the AFC. With Josh Allen playing at an MVP-level, a boost to their defensive line could make them an ever tougher matchup in the postseason.

Carolina Panthers - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Carolina Panthers

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

After a disappointing rookie campaign, Bryce Young began to show flashes of potential at the end of the 2024 campaign. However, in order for Young to take the next step, he needs a true alpha pass-catcher. The Panthers selected Xavier Legette in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft but he only tallied 497 yards in 16 contests. A top wideout could bring this offense to a new level.

Chicago Bears - NFL Stock Logo

Chicago Bears

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

The Chicago Bears hired Ben Johnson to bring their franchise back on track. Johnson’s primary task will be to build a gameplan to support their franchise QB Caleb Williams. Williams was sacked 68 times as a rookie, which is the most in the NFL. The Bears allowed 38 more sacks than the second-most team (Arizona Cardinals). An improved offensive line will lay the foundation for the new era of Chicago Bears football.

Cincinnati Bengals

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Cincinnati Bengals boast one of the top offensive units in the league. Last season, the Bengals tallied the sixth-most PPG (27.8) and averaged the most passing yards per game (279.2). However, their defense struggled as they allowed the seventh-most PPG. The Bengals could not defend the pass as they surrendered the ninth-most total yards per game.

CLEVELAND BROWNS LOGO STOCK

Cleveland Browns

Biggest Need: Quarterback

The Deshaun Watson trade has not been successful for the Browns. This past season, Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Watson has already faced a setback and could be in danger of missing the 2025 campaign. During the regular season, the Browns averaged the fifth-fewest passing yards per game. The Browns hold the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and could opt to select their franchise QB.

DALLAS COWBOYS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Dallas Cowboys

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

Even though the Dallas Cowboys have superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb under contract, they are lacking a proven No. 2 option. Brandin Cooks was brought in to serve as the second wideout but tallied only 259 yards across 10 games. Jalen Tolbert sometimes showed flashes but only surpassed 50 yards in three games. A proven No. 2 option opposite of Lamb could bring this team back to the postseason.

Denver Broncos - NFL Logo Stock Image

Denver Broncos

Biggest Need: Tight End

The Denver Broncos caught fire with rookie Bo Nix under center. The team showed steady improvement across the entire campaign. However, the team lacked a reliable option at tight end. Their top tight end, Adam Trautman, caught just 13 passes for 188 yards and two receiving scores. With Courtland Sutton operating as the alpha wideout and the late-season emergence of Marvin Mims, a tight end could help Nix reach a new level in his sophomore campaign.

DETROIT LIONS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Detroit Lions

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Detroit Lions boasted one of the best offensive units in league history. The Lions scored 33.2 PPG and averaged the sixth-most rushing yards per game and the second-most passing yards per game. Even though they still captured the top seed in the NFC, their defense could use help in their secondary. The Lions allowed the third-most passing yards per game and their struggles were evident in their postseason loss to the Washington Commanders.

GREEN BAY PACKERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Green Bay Packers

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

The Green Bay Packers relied heavily on their rushing attack in the 2024 regular season. Led by Josh Jacobs, the Green Bay rushing attack averaged the fifth-most rushing yards per game. However, their passing attack was quite disappointing. Several of their young receivers, such as Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs, have not taken a step forward and Christian Watson (knee) could be in danger of missing the 2025 season. The Packers need a true alpha wideout to compete in the NFC.

Houston Texans - NFL Stock Image, Logo

Houston Texans

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

The Texans allowed the fourth-most sacks during the 2024 regular season. During their postseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times and even suffered an injury late in the game. To compete in a tough AFC, the Texans need to be able to keep their franchise QB upright to make a deep playoff run in 2025.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Indianapolis Colts

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Indianapolis Colts had a disappointing 2024 season. While their offense needs significant improvement, their defense was a glaring concern during the regular season. The Colts allowed the seventh-most passing yards per game (229.4) and the ninth-most PPG (25.1). In order for Anthony Richardson to put the team in position to win, their defense will need to take a significant step forward.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Jacksonville Jaguars

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Cohen to lead a new era of Jaguars football after a disappointing 4-13 season. While their offense already has a strong foundation with Trevor Lawrence and breakout rookie Brian Thomas Jr., their secondary needs the most improvement. The Jaguars allowed the most passing yards in the league last season and the sixth-most PPG.

Kansas City Chiefs - NFL Stock Logo

Kansas City Chiefs

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

While the Chiefs could use improvement at wide receiver, they will welcome back top wideout Rashee Rice (knee) at the start of the 2025 campaign, which should give Patrick Mahomes another elite playmaker. As a result, their top need should be the offensive line. Earlier in the offseason, the Chiefs traded Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears in hopes of shedding salary. During their Super Bowl loss, they were sacked six times and could face a tough challenge of returning to the Super Bowl if their offensive line continues to struggle.

Las Vegas Raiders - NFL LOGO, STOCK

Las Vegas Raiders

Biggest Need: Quarterback

The Las Vegas Raiders had some of the worst QB play during the 2024 regular season. During the campaign, they split the starts between Gardner Minshew (who was recently released) and Aidan O’Connell. While O’Connell has shown minor flashes of potential, he has not proven he could be a franchise option. With the Raiders holding a top pick in the NFL Draft, expect them to consider finding their next QB in this year’s rookie class.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Los Angeles Chargers

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

While 2024 second round selection Ladd McConkey emerged as a legitimate playmaker down the stretch, the Chargers lack a proven option opposite of him. Over his final eight games (including the playoffs), McConkey averaged 106.8 yards per game and scored four touchdowns. Their No. 2 option, Quentin Johnston dropped five passes and tallied just 711 yards across 15 games.

LOS ANGELES RAMS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Los Angeles Rams

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

With Matthew Stafford set to return for the 2025 season, the Rams should look to bolster their offensive line as they make a final Super Bowl push. While the team could use another wideout opposite of Puka Nacua, their offensive line is a more significant need. Entering the offseason, their left tackle Alaric Jackson is a free agent. During their postseason loss to the Eagles, Stafford was sacked five times.

MIAMI DOLPHINS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Miami Dolphins

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

The Miami Dolphins fell short of expectations during the 2024 regular season. Their offense took a significant step back with Tua Tagovailoa missing half of the season due to concussion and were unable to qualify for the postseason. The Dolphins allowed the 15th most sacks last season and need to strengthen their line to protect Tagovailoa.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Minnesota Vikings

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Vikings boasted one of the league’s top offensive units and rushing defenses. However, their secondary was an issue throughout the season and needs to be addressed in order for them to compete against Detroit in the NFC North. Last season, the Vikings allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game but allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game.

New England Patriots - NFL Logo Stock

New England Patriots

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

The New England Patriots have a franchise quarterback and now have to put their entire focus on putting talent around him. While their offensive line is also a top issue, pairing Drake Maye with a top pass catcher could help him take the next step in his progression. The Patriots could look to select one of the top wide receiver prospects in the draft class with the fourth-overall selection.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New Orleans Saints

Biggest Need: Quarterback

After performing well during his first season in New Orleans, Carr battled several injuries in the 2024 campaign and was only able to play in 10 contests. During these games, Carr averaged just 214.5 passing yards per game with a 15:5 TD:INT ratio. While the Saints will likely give Carr the starting role in 2025, they lack a proven option behind him and a potential franchise option. If the Saints had a proven option behind Carr, they may have remained competitive in the NFC playoff picture.

NEW YORK GIANTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New York Giants

Biggest Need: Quarterback

The New York Giants are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback. The Daniel Jones era ended last season after the team released him. During the final weeks of the regular season, they turned to Drew Lock to close out the season. While Lock could return and operate as the No. 2 option, the Giants need to find a QB to pair with their breakout wide receiver Malik Nabers. They have already been linked to Aaron Rodgers and several top prospects.

NEW YORK JETS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New York Jets

Biggest Need: Quarterback

Like their fellow NY neighbor, the Jets are also in need of a franchise quarterback. The Aaron Rodgers experiment was a failure as he missed the entire 2023 season due to injury and could not bring the Jets back to the postseason in 2024. While Rodgers showed flashes at times, the offense lacked any consistency. With Tyrod Taylor being the only proven quarterback option on the roster, expect the Jets to pursue this position in free agency or target an option in the draft.

Philadelphia Eagles - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Philadelphia Eagles

Biggest Need: Tight End

It is hard to find a “significant” need on the reigning Super Bowl champions. However, if they were to target a specific need during the offseason, they should look at adding depth to their tight end room. While Dallas Goedert has been productive when on the field, he has battled numerous injuries over the past three seasons. During this span, he has only played 14 games once and logged only 10 starts in 2024.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Pittsburgh Steelers

Biggest Need: Quarterback

Currently, the Steelers do not have a quarterback on their roster. During the 2024 season, the Steelers relied on Russell Wilson and Justin Fields to split the duties. Wilson took over the job halfway through the season and started in their playoff game. Over the final month of the season, the Steelers offense was very inconsistent. They have an elite defense and an improved quarterback could make them a contender in the AFC.

San Francisco 49ers - Niners NFL Logo Stock

San Francisco 49ers

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

The 49ers began their offseason by shipping Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders in hopes of shedding cap. The 49ers will have to pay quarterback Brock Purdy, and as a result, are looking to create more cap space. Brandon Aiyuk has also been on the trade block and would provide the team a lot of flexibility on the books. As a result, the team will need to find alternative younger wide receivers to pair with Ricky Pearsall. Look for the 49ers to find another pass catcher in this year’s draft as they look to return to the postseason.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Seattle Seahawks

Biggest Need: Offensive Line

The Seattle Seahawks fell short of a postseason bid, losing the NFC West title on a tiebreaker to the Los Angeles Rams. A significant concern was their offensive line. During the regular season, Geno Smith was sacked 54 times, which was tied as the third-highest total in the sport, only behind Caleb Williams and the Cleveland Browns (Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson). An improved offensive line would also create more running lanes for their running backs, Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Biggest Need: Secondary

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their fourth-straight NFC South title in 2024. They had one of the top offensive units as they scored the fourth-most PPG. They also defended the run quite well, allowing just 97.8 rushing yards per game (fourth-fewest in the league). However, their secondary allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game. An improvement in this position could make them serious contenders in the NFC.

TENNESSEE TITANS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Tennessee Titans

Biggest Need: Quarterback

The Tennessee Titans have the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and will likely look to select their franchise quarterback. Last season, the Titans split starts between Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. Levis held a poor 13:12 TD:INT ratio and averaged just 174 passing yards per game. Rudolph held a similar 9:9 TD:INT ratio. While the Titans also need legitimate pass catchers, expect them to address the QB position first.

Washington Commanders - NFL Logo Stock

Washington Commanders

Biggest Need: Wide Receiver

While the Commanders have already begun to address this position by bringing in Deebo Samuel, they will need to bring another option for Jayden Daniels. Last season, the Commanders passing attack was designed around Terry McLaurin as their other two wideouts (Dyami Brown and Noah Brown) combined for just two receiving scores. Samuel will provide them an option in the slot, but expect the Commanders to target another wide receiver to play on the outside.
