Eric Cross' Top 100 Dynasty Prospect Rankings for Fantasy Baseball (July 2024)

Jackson Holliday - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Rookies

Eric Cross provides his updated top 100 dynasty prospect rankings for fantasy baseball (July updated). These are the top MLB prospects to target in dynasty leagues for 2024 and beyond.

The prospect rankings update after the MLB draft is always an exciting one. We've seen plenty of top prospects graduate over the first few months of the season, so it's nice to finally get some reinforcements to add to the mix and strengthen both this Top 100 and my overall Top 500 as well.

These rankings are geared toward standard 5x5 leagues (AVG) and consider many factors, including performance to date, scouting grades, future projection, and video and data analysis. Or, as I like to call it... PPP, which stands for profile, performance, projection.

While these rankings are more slanted towards long-term fantasy value, proximity and short-term value do play a part in where a prospect lands in my rankings. If you want to see the full Top 500, then head on over to my Patreon!

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Notes

Charlie Condon, Colorado Rockies and Travis Bazzana, Cleveland Guardians

You'll notice that two FYPD bats from the 2024 draft class cracked my Top-10. One reason for that is all the graduations we've seen so far this season, but the other reason is that Charlie Condon and Travis Bazzana are phenomenal talents with fantasy-friendly profiles. I'll dive into them more in my upcoming FYPD rankings post, but Condon has the best blend of hit and power in the entire draft class and will get to flaunt that at Coors Field someday. As for Bazzana, he's an easy plus hitter with above-average power and speed from the second base position.

Both Condon and Bazzana are easy Top-10 fantasy prospects right now and both are already Top 100 dynasty assets in my eyes.

Brayden Taylor, Tampa Bay Rays

In this month's update, Brayden Taylor made a massive jump from 86 to 22, and I honestly wanted to go even higher. The 2023 19th overall pick has slashed .271/.391/.516 in 83 games this season with 25 doubles, 14 home runs, and 26 steals.

Taylor has the kind of profile that often gets undervalued as he doesn't stand out in any one area. However, Taylor is rock solid across the board with an above-average or better hit tool and the power/speed blend to put up some 20/20 seasons with a good AVG and OBP as well. It was a fairly easy decision to push him this highly in my rankings and I still believe he's a great value target in dynasty leagues.

Deyvison De Los Santos, Miami Marlins

It's been quite the last seven months for Deyvison De Los Santos. After not being protected by Arizona and selected by Cleveland in the Rule-5 draft, De Los Santos returned to Arizona for a few months in Triple-A before being shipped to Miami last week in the A.J. Puk deal. Oh yeah, he's also leading the minors with 29 home runs. That's kind of an important nugget of info.

With De Los Santos, there's no denying the massive raw power, and I've seen that raw power on full display first-hand. However, De Los Santos is very aggressive at the plate and I'm wondering if he's ever going to be more than a .220-.230 hitter with a sub-.300 OBP. He'll get plenty of run in Miami moving forward, so if you can stomach the lower AVG/OBP, De Los Santos could be a solid source of power.

Kristian Campbell, Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have had a few breakouts this season with Kristian Cambell maybe being the biggest one so far. In 79 games between Hi-A and Double-A, Campbell is slashing a stellar .349/.455/.572 with 27 doubles, 12 home runs, and 13 steals. As was the case with Taylor, Campbell doesn't have that one loud tool, but he could wind up as above-average or better across the board offensively while playing either second base or in the outfield. Campbell's dynasty stock is firmly on the rise right now.

Cole Carrigg, Colorado Rockies

Robert Calaz is getting a ton of buzz right now and rightfully so, but Cole Carrigg made a major jump up my rankings this month as well. Carrigg leads the minors with 12 triples and is the only prospect this season to have at least 10 doubles, 10 triples, and 10 home runs. While power will likely never be a major part of his game, Carrigg has enough power to settle in around 15 home runs given where his future home ballpark is. He's also shown a better feel for hitting than many expected, is a plus runner, and is a good defender who can play multiple positions.

Santiago Suarez, Tampa Bay Rays

If you're looking to acquire a Top-10 caliber pitching prospect without paying the Top-10 price tag, then Santiago Suarez is your guy. After a few rough starts in May, Suarez has been rolling over his last eight starts, posting a 2.83 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 5.7% walk rate, 26.6% strikeout rate, and a .170 BAA. Suarez has shown plus command and control over his three-pitch arsenal with both his fastball and slider grading as above-average or plus. Suarez's changeup lags behind a bit, but he's made strides with the offering this season.

Spencer Jones, New York Yankees

Rounding out the Top 100 is big Spencer Jones from the New York Yankees. Jones has become increasingly hard to rank over the last few months due to the notable pros and cons in his profile. The positives are massive raw power and sneaky above-average speed and we've seen Jones showcase those tools throughout his professional career. But unfortunately, Jones has trouble making consistent contact and is striking out a whopping 37.4% of the time this season. It's hard to ignore those extreme cons and that's why Jones has steadily been sliding down my rankings.
