Welcome to the August 26th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 25th games. Enjoy them. Daily Musings

• Name that tune…"You give me Bieber…When you kiss me…Bieber when you hold me tight…” 6 IP, 2 ER, 10 K.
• Is it cheating if J.T. Realmuto bribes the OF wall to help shoulder the ball over? (Ninth HR).
• Jon Berti (eight) puts another dime in the jukebox to play “Stolen Base Fever.” (Three SB)
• No, it is not! You don’t get credit if you HR in one game & SB in another game, Tommy La Stella. That is à la carte. Of course, we are impressed that your walk rate (12.8%) is double your K rate (6%).
• Three perfect innings (five K) for Seth Lugo. Wish it led to a W.
• Trevor Rogers, you don’t have to be nice (five BB) to do well in your first MLB start. (4 IP, 6 K.)
• And the whole beach celebrates Trea Turner’s sixth long ball.
• Jonathan Villar’s magic carpet ride flies again. (ninth SB).
• Not even Rodney Dangerfield got this much disrespect. Andrew McCutchen only rostered in 52% of leagues. 14 R+RBI, 1 HR, 2 SB, .290 AVG in the last seven games.
• Yes, when Teoscar Hernandez hits it (11th HR), it comes out quick. (99.1 mph on FB/LD). 15.1% SwingStrike though.
• Renato Nunez sneaks out of the house for the sixth time. He pulls it off 57% of the time.
• If only the Blue Jays can play every season in the cozy Buffalo environment
• I don’t know why he chose this place, but Manuel Margot orders the Chicken Quesadilla combo meal! (1 HR/3 SB).
• Tyler Glasnow amused by the simplicity of this game. 13 K. His 27.9% K-BB ranks fifth.
• Jonathan Schoop (seven) loves Graham Slam ice cream. Four heaping schoops, please. (Yep, you see what I did there.)
• Whew. That one had some giddy-up. 111.9 mph charge into Hunter Renfroe's fifth single-horse stampede
• Abracadabra. Now you see him and then you don’t. Tyler Chatwood 1.1 IP, 2 ER, 5 BB.
• Kyle Schwarber has finally taken the restrictor plates off. First SB of …. (Yes, no need for us to count them all)
• YAGA!! Matt Olson crushes his 10th. 453 ft away, there were remnants of what resembled a baseball.
• No need to worry, my child. The Francisco Lindor will always be there in the end. Fifth ride through the clouds.
• Abraham Toro trying to be the Bregman clone for the next three weeks? For one split second. Third HR.
• Brandon Bielak, please have a seat. No, no. Don’t get up..ever again. 0.2 IP, 3 ER, 3 BB. I know, Josh Reddick can’t pick up a ball rolling on the ground.
• Oliver Perez will opt-out if Mike Clevinger or Zach Plesac returns, he said. Time to put up or shut up.
• Kyle Gibson. I have no words.
• Lucas Giolito expresses his dominance over the Pirates. Yes, it was a No-Hitter. Yes, it was Pirates.
• Eugenio Suarez thinks he can bribe us with a 2nd SB. What?! What .158 AVG?
• Yes, you saw that right. Joey Votto was invited to take the Piñata Party. Four strikeouts.
• You can steal a base, Adalberto Mondesi (seven). Too bad you can’t steal AVG.
• Chris Paddack, did you not get the memo? It was SEA. 5 IP, 6 ER, 7 K.
• Austin Nola batting .315 w/ fifth long ball. LSU pride!
• Here’s a Story of a lovely fella, with nine homers & seven stolen bases of his own.
• Please tell me you didn’t buy into the 2019 Eduardo Escobar (3 HR, 1 SB, .194 AVG.)
• Best of the night. Corey Seager’s grilled tri-tip. 113 mph for 8th juicy cut.
• Brandon Belt socks two. So much potential for his career.
• Boyz II Men, sing for us….”It’s so hard…to say goodby…to yesterday…..”
  • Justin Upton - Thank you for the power years.
  • Albert Pujols - At least you still get RBI opportunities
  • Jose Altuve - Don’t say goodbye yet.
  • Miguel Cabrera. The best personality in the game. We will never forget the laughter & memories.
  • Edwin Encarnacion. The power was wonderful.

  • Edgar Garcia (one). Sharing is Caring Committee. Nine guys w. saves.
  • Matt Barnes save (2), but allowed a HR. The world still in balance.
  • Ty Buttrey. 1 ER isn’t a lot, but Hansel Robles wants his job back.
  • Tanner Rainey allowed his second ER. You’re still great.
  • Hector Neris in the eighth. Are you surprised?
  • Buck Farmer. one…HR allowed.
• Have a great Wednesday everyone. If you’ve got family & family in LA/TEX, make sure they stay safe. Take a break from any negativity going on to provide a little positivity in someone's life. Lend a helping hand. It will be returned in bunches.
