Recent Update

3/20:Jonathan Villar will return to Brewers camp after a disappointing exit from the World Baseball Classic for his native Dominican Republic. Slotting in mostly on the bench for the D.R., Villar received only five at bats throughout the tournament, recording a single hit and stealing one base. With many Major Leaguers nearing the end of their spring routines, Brewers beat writer Tom Haudricourt suggests Villar could slot into the lineup as soon as Tuesday. After a breakout campaign for Villar in 2016, many fantasy owners should monitor the remainder of Villar's spring with only two weeks until Opening Day. With infielder Hernan Perez having a brilliant spring, Villar will need to prove he is season ready to stave off any potential playing time poaching by Perez or others.  In all likelihood, Villar will be an everyday starter and should be nearly as productive as 2016.--Mitchell Bannon - RotoBaller

  • @Todd_Rosiak: Santana strikes out, but Villar singles in Broxton and it’s 6-4. One out for Thames.

  • @Todd_Rosiak: Braun moves Thames up with a groundout, then Shaw’s sacrifice fly scores Villar to make it 2-1.

  • @Haudricourt: Braun’s throw went over Villar and Thames whiffed on it backing up play, so it goes for two-base error and unearned run. 1-1.
  • @Haudricourt: Just another extra-base hit for Travis Shaw, who doubles to LF to score Villar for 1-0 lead. Shot ball down LF line against shift.
