Alexander Mattison's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 12 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Alexander Mattison for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison had high expectations entering the season. After several years with the team, the Vikings released Dalvin Cook in the offseason, making Mattison the new starter. The former Boise State star had played well as the starter in the past. Therefore, fantasy players expected Mattison to play well in his first year as the full-time starter.
However, the veteran is only the RB28 for the year, averaging 8.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has 148 rushing attempts for 542 yards and zero touchdowns this season. Yet, Mattison has played a meaningful role in the passing game, totaling 25 receptions for 163 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Unfortunately, the veteran running back has struggled lately. He has been the RB30 over the past six weeks, averaging 7.5 fantasy points per game, totaling 9.2 or fewer in all but one contest. Furthermore, Mattison has struggled to hold onto the ball.
The veteran running back faces the Chicago Bears in Week 12. Last week, they gave up 112 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and 33.3 fantasy points to the Detroit Lions backfield. However, the Bears had held running backs without a touchdown over their previous seven games before last week.
