NHL DFS Analysis And Picks For 4/22/25

Tonight, we have a four-game slate and the Battle of Florida series debut. Tonight’s slate offers value across the board, allowing for creativity when building lineups.

 I will do my best to guide you through this four-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news. This becomes more important with players sitting for rest ahead of the playoffs!

NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Series Records:

  • Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs - Toronto Leads 1-0
  • New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes - Carolina Leads 1-0
  • Minnesota Wild at Vegas Golden Knights - Vegas Leads 1-0

DraftKings And FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Sergei Bobrovsky - DK $7.6K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - at Tampa Bay Lightning

The Battle of Florida is back for its second rendition, after the Florida Panthers, the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, won in five games last year. Sergei Bobrovsky produced a 0.896 Save Percentage and a 2.78 Goals Against Average in that series. Overall, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Bobrovsky has a 0.904 Save Percentage and a 2.83 Goals Against Average in the playoffs. That includes both tenures with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the current Florida Panthers. In the netminder’s last 10 games, he is a top-20 goalie in Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60.

The Lightning saw a surge in offense to end the season, and the metrics validate that. They were the second-best in Goals Per 60 and just outside the top 10 in Scoring Chances Per 60. Bobrovsky will be relied on heavily in this matchup. Can he return to prime form and push for back-to-back Stanley Cups?

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Frederik Andersen (DK $8.2K || FD $8.1K) vs. New Jersey Devils
  • Anthony Stolarz (DK $8K || FD $7.8K) vs. Ottawa Senators

DraftKings And FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Auston Matthews - DK $9K || FD $8.6K

Opponent - vs. Ottawa Senators

Thanks to their performance in Game One, Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be popular options tonight. The star center produced two assists, six shots, and two blocked shots in the 6-2 home win. He now has three goals, three assists, 20 shots, and seven blocked shots in four regular-season games and one playoff game.

They were good enough to compete over the last 10 away games for the Ottawa Senators, but they were the third-worst in Shots Against Per 60 and sixth-worst in High-Danger Chances Against Per 60. Matthews is expected to see Ottawa’s third line again tonight. If he does, he is expected to have another big performance.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Tomas Hertl (DK $5.7K || FD $7K) vs. Minnesota Wild
  • Jesperi Kotkaniemi (DK $2.7K || FD $4.4K) vs. New Jersey Devils

DraftKings And FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Pavel Dorofeyev - DK $5.6K || FD $6.4K

Opponent - vs. Minnesota Wild

In just his second playoff game, Pavel Dorofeyev is making his claim to fame as the next big weapon for the Vegas Golden Knights. It is no secret that the youngster has had a breakout season, shattering his previous season highs in every category. In Game One of the first round, the winger accumulated one goal and three shots, and he is now averaging three shots or more over his last eight appearances.

The Golden Knights' second line played the majority of their time against Minnesota’s third line, which is known for its shutdown ability. However, the opposite happened on Sunday. If Dorofeyev and company can lock in early, a repeat performance is in store.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Matthew Knies (DK $5.5K || FD $6.1K) vs. Ottawa Senators
  • Andrei Svechnikov (DK $5K || FD $5.9K) vs. New Jersey Devils

DraftKings And FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Alex Pietrangelo - DK $4.3K || FD $5.5K

Opponent - vs. Minnesota Wild

Alex Pietrangelo may not be the same two-way defenseman he once was, but playoff hockey is a completely different game, one that suits him well. The veteran in Game One produced one assist, two shots, and four blocked shots. Over his last five games, he has two assists, six shots, and 12 blocked shots.

The Minnesota Wild are inconsistent and capable of very good hockey or very poor hockey. Either way, they will be taking shots, and blocking shots is becoming more and more of a priority for Pietrangelo. At $4.3K on DraftKings, getting the Blocked Shot Bonus would immediately get to value.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Shayne Gostisbehere (DK $4.1K || FD $5.6K) vs. New Jersey Devils
