Key Starters and Tough Calls - Week 10 Lineup Spotlights for Fantasy Football Include Najee Harris, Rome Odunze, Jordan Addison, Raheem Mostert

Jordan Addison - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Scott Engel delivers his fantasy football lineup starts/sits for Week 10 (2024). He focuses on key NFL players to start when you are dealing with tight Week 10 fantasy football lineup decisions.

Scott Engel’s Lineup Spotlights are a highlighted weekly feature on RotoBaller.com for the 2024 fantasy football season. Every week, he zooms in on potential starting lineup picks to consider when you are dealing with close decisions.

The lineup plays included in this rundown are based on Scott’s Premium Weekly Lineup Rankings, available as part of the RotoBaller NFL Premium Pass. Wide Receivers – Fantasy Football Week 10

Rome Odunze

The Chicago rookie was drafted as a fantasy WR3 in some leagues this preseason. Many fantasy players tend to get excited about rookies, sometimes to the point of overdrafting them. That was the case with Odunze, who finished the 2024 fantasy football draft season with an Average Draft Position of 34 at WR in Sleeper leagues.

Odunze was ticketed to begin the season as the third WR on the Chicago depth chart, and it didn’t seem like he was going to see consistent opportunities unless D.J. Moore or Keenan Allen missed time. Allen missed Weeks 2 and 3, and Odunze caught six passes for 112 yards and a TD in the second game that the veteran sat out.

Over the next three games, though, Oduzne receded into the background, with a total of eight catches for 90 yards and no TDs. But Allen is looking like he is fading away lately, as he has not topped 41 receiving yards in a game this season. Over the past two games, Odunze started to nudge his way back into the picture.

In Week 8, the 22-year-old was targeted by six teams, and in Week 9, he caught five of seven targets for 104 yards. The Bears can use another spark in the passing game, and Odunze is capable of providing it. New England ranks 22nd in receiving yards allowed to RBs, so consider starting Odunze if you need a WR streamer or flex option in Week 10.

Jordan Addison

The Vikings finally saw T.J. Hockenson return to action last week, but he was understandably a minor factor in the Minnesota passing game, catching three passes for 27 yards. I don’t rank him as a fantasy TE1 this week, but his presence in the Vikings offense can serve as another reason to consider starting Addison.

Justin Jefferson will always naturally draw a heavy amount of defensive attention, and Hockenson will also command much defensive respect when he is in the game. The matchup against Jacksonville is the main factor to slip Addison into your lineup as a WR3 or flex option.

The Jaguars rank 29th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to WRs, and their defense should spend a lot of time on the field this week with Mac Jones expected to start at QB.

With Jefferson and Hockenson being two prime targets for Jacksonville to focus on, Addison may flourish as a third option for Sam Darnold. He caught more than three passes in a game once this season and has yet to reach the 75-yard receiving mark.  Yet I am forecasting a spike week in this matchup, so Addison can be plugged into your lineup if needed.

Quentin Johnston

He was one of the biggest busts in the league as a rookie, but Johnston has turned his outlook around in Year Two. He went undrafted in many leagues and was still widely available on the waiver wire just two weeks ago. The Chargers have started to pass the ball more in recent weeks, and Johnston is gaining more fantasy attention and notice.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder boasts downfield gears that make him a big-play option for Justin Herbert. Johnston has four TD receptions in six games played, and last week he set a new career high with 118 receiving yards. He returned from an ankle injury and caught a 66-yard pass for a TD.

Look for the second-year man to function as a more frequent fantasy contributor for the rest of the year. Johnston is averaging 15.7 yards per reception and Tennessee allowed five TD receptions to WRs over the past four weeks.

Running Backs – Fantasy Football Week 10

Najee Harris

The Steelers roll into their featured Week 10 matchup with Washington carrying a somewhat surprising 6-2 record. Pittsburgh won both of its last two games as Russell Wilson took over as the starting RB. Harris, however, is a true driving force for the offense.

This week, the Pittsburgh RB will be aiming for his fourth consecutive 100-yard rushing game. He averaged 7.6, 4.9, and 6.0 yards per carry in the last three games. Harris rushed for TDs in two of those outings.

Washington ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed to RBs. The Steelers have the eighth-best offensive line run blocking advantage grade on Pro Football Focus for Week 10. Lock Harris in as an RB starter. Pittsburgh will look to control the clock as much as possible behind Harris, which will also keep the Commanders offense off the field as much as possible.

Chuba Hubbard

In the longer term, fantasy football players are uncertain about Hubbard’s outlook. The Panthers refused to deal him before the trade deadline and signed their current lead RB to a four-year contract extension this week.

Jonathon Brooks may make his NFL debut this week, though, and it is conceivable that we could see a backfield timeshare by the fantasy playoffs. The rookie likely won’t have much of an offensive role this week as he is gradually worked into the offense. The next few weeks will model as Brooks’ preseason type of ramping up period.

Hubbard remains important to the Panthers as a key offensive player who can ease pressure on developing QB Bryce Young. Roll with him in fantasy football as long as you can, including this week. The Giants rank 27th in rushing yards allowed to RBs.

Raheem Mostert

In some instances, fantasy leaguers find it hard to let go of a player as a regularly useful fantasy starter. That is certainly the case with Mostert, who was a tremendous value performer last year as he rushed for 18 TDs.

This season, though, Mostert has not finished as a top 15 fantasy RB in five games played, and his two rushing TDs came in one game. He averaged 10 carries per game in the last three, and the return of Tua Tagovailoa has not elevated the Miami offense as hoped just yet.

It is possible that the Dolphins could hit their collective stride on offense again soon, and Mostert will re-emerge as a regular TD contributor. But Mostert has also fumbled twice in the past three games, and rookie Jaylen Wright may start to threaten his playing time.

The Rams have not allowed any TD runs to opposing RBs over the past four weeks and the 32-year-old Miami RB is heavily TD dependent for fantasy purposes.

You can always revere Mostert for what he accomplished last season, but I don’t rank him as a top 30 fantasy RB for NFL Week 10. Right now, he is “sooooo” 2023. Make the break from giving him strong lineup consideration for now.

Quarterback And Tight End – Fantasy Football Week 10

Daniel Jones

In one league where I manage a team with another person, he drafted the roster and wanted me to focus on in-season moves. He waited until the late rounds to draft a QB, and we have been streaming throughout the first nine weeks, fashioning a 6-3 record with the likes of Justin Fields, Drake Maye, and Jameis Winston.

This week’s temporary starter for us is Jones, who I have ranked as a back-end QB1. In Week 9, Jones passed for two TDs and rushed for another score. He faces the NFL’s worst defense and can post quality fantasy totals against Carolina. Join me in streaming Daniel Jones this week, won’t you?

Taysom Hill

The versatile New Orleans weapon usually has a very shaly fantasy floor, even compared to many options at TE in fantasy football. Most TEs are unreliable overall, but Hill is the ultimate boom or bust option at a position where he truly doesn’t fit the offensive profile. This week, you can expect more of the “boom” element.

New Orleans is so decimated by injuries that Hill could function in a key offensive role in a second consecutive game. Last week, he rushed for a TD and caught four of five targets for 41 yards. Be willing to gamble on Hill if a TE plugger is needed. I rank him as a top 10 fantasy TE for NFL Week 10.
